    Hello Xbox Forum Support,

    I am hoping that you can help me on a solution for my issue. I have already attempted to resolve the issue with the Chat support available on the Xbox website, but they were unable to verify that I had redeemed the mentioned Games with Gold. Any help or
    direction you can provide towards getting my game license fixed would be appreciated.

    The game How to Survive: Storm Warning Edition was offered free with the Games with Gold promotion from August 16 to September 15 of 2015. During that time I purchased the game over the Xbox.com website. The page I redeemed from was the older version of

    Since that time, the game has appeared on my Xbox One in the appropriate place: "My Games and Apps/Ready to Install". Today, I attempted to download and launch the game, and found that the game is licensed only as a free trial.

    Why would the game have licensed as a free trial during a Games with Gold promotion? Why does Xbox support seem to have no record that I ever redeemed a trial or full version of the game, despite the fact that I've seen it on my Xbox One in the 'My Games
    and Apps' section for over a year now?

    It also may help you to understand that I have been on the Xbox ecosystem since the beginning of LIVE and on my current gamertag since 2007 or 2008. I've redeemed countless paid and free games over that time and nearly every Games with Gold since that promotion
    started (barring perhaps, this game). All that, only to say that I do know how to redeem the games correctly, and I don't believe that is the issue here.

    Thanks for your time and I appreciate any assistance you can provide me.

    It's possible that the license for the game is no longer available which is why you're only able to get the trial version of it on the marketplace.

    I have the same issue. I had done the license transfer and still all my newly downloaded games (which I have owned previously and played the full versions) are only trial versions.

    I agree with the previous comment. Making a new account would be the easiest, and quickest, way to get around this. You will need to use an alternative Microsoft email or create a new one.

    Keep in mind what Wadski mentioned about the gamertags having a four digit number associated to them, similar with Discord.

    There was a change on Live to allow people to have pseudo duplicate usernames. All usernames now have a #nnnn after them which is primarily hidden. This is very much like Discord.
