I pay the yearly $60 for the Gold Membership because I support the Xbox Brand.

In regards to the Games With Gold offers, they technically aren't free because of the $60 cost. But, you will be getting way more than the $60 that you spent for the Gold Membership.

Despite the fact that I haven't downloaded any free games at all with my 3 years of Gold Membership, I can tell you from what I seen that you will indeed be getting way more that the $60 that you paid for in one year

I don't want free games. I want games that I love so much, I'm willing to pay full price. That hasn't happened in a long time. Think about it. How many free games have you finished after downloading them?

Zack's final sentence actually makes a point - at least in my case. I don't think I've ever finished a free game that I've gotten through GwG.

In any case, I just recently played Castle Storm: Definitive Edition, and although it seems to be geared towards kids, I had a great time playing it (and did so for upwards of 3 hours last night). It combines tower defense with a side of platforming and
Angry Birds-style destruction. I particularly enjoyed the story (my favorite part was when the hero says, "great, now who's going to defend the kingdom?" and the guard right behind him simply goes "AHEM!" in reply) and building my own castle, only to tear
it down moments later. Also, getting headshots with the javelins and spiked balls was rather quite satisfying too.

im still confused as to why the assassins creed game was free for the 360, yet not xb1. and it was one of the newer ones.

There are people out there who are new to gaming and they are buying the Xbox 360 so GWG is a great way for these gamers to build up a collection of games.

@GG, the only GwG I completed was Max.... but I don't think game completion is relevant to GwG for myself, as I rarely complete any game I purchase.

Regardless of completing a game or not. You should still download the free game, and try it when there is a dry spell for games

Well, I still have Crimson Dragon. It's only there until I need the space though and to simply say I own it. Otherwise, I'll probably never actually play it...

I'm your age and I find it interesting that I see things completely the opposite of you.

You haven't played these games and when you do that becomes apparent very quickly. Shovel Knight and many of the other pixel/sprite based games that we are seeing today couldn't have been made on the NES, etc. They have chosen to use a graphics style that
has been around for decades but everything else is innovative and new (controls, depth, etc).

When I play the next gen console releases I get the feeling of "been there, done that". We are seeing nothing new and innovative. The games may look pretty but it's the same FPS's and open world games that have become so prevalent in recent years. To make
matters worse the games are focusing so much on graphics that we are losing the depth and gameplay we've seen in the past.

The big console developers are giving us recycled trash and people are buying it. It's going to be interesting to see what happens when some of the "pretty" indie titles hit the console and people start to see the innovation and gameplay that are being offered
by the little guys. You're absolutely right, gaming experience makes a huge impact on what you play and part of that experience comes from knowing and playing what's available in the big world of gaming.

Well put blue as a nearly 30 year old man I think I know whether I like most things in life. I deffo know what types of games I like. GwG has provided me with 2 so far.
