Games with Gold is extremely underwhelming lately...

There are plenty of things in life I thought I knew I didn't like until I tried them. Pre judging and being adamant that your judgement is 100% with no experience of the thing your judging isvery narrow minded.

This whole conversation (or debate) is going nowhere... It's a matter of individual preferences and perception and there's nothing 'wrong' with people on either side of this fence.
It's part of what makes us all individuals.

I know without any doubt that I could never possibly eat deep fried dog poo... 20k people could tell me it's a delicacy and it wouldn't matter. How do I know my judgment is, in
fact, 100% on that? Because I do have some experience with dogs and their by products. None of it (referring only to the by products, I actually have 2 dogs) has been well received. I can't stand the smell, the look isn't appealing
at all and I'd likely hurl just at the thought, before I ever got it anywhere close to my mouth.

But... but... Blue! How do you
really know if you haven't tried it!? lol Simple. I actually do have some experience with it... and even though it's "limited" experience, every sensory input I've received from it has been pretty bad. In fact, bad enough that I don't need
to chuck a big blob of it into my mouth to know it will taste like... well, you know.

As far as the type of games available on GWG, I have enough experience (from my other senses) from those kind of games to know I have little interest in them. I'm fully aware that
I may pass on a [very] few that I might like, but I'm just fine with that. My judgment doesn't have to be 100% for me to pass on a game... I'll do it with 60% dislike if I'm so inclined.

That's my prerogative... and it's no more 'wrong' than anyone else's, including those who DL every single GWG and play them all just because they're 'free'. Of course... I'm not
in here whining about the offerings either.

MW3 Server Timed Out

Connecting to this game has been extremely variable, lately.

 

EA servers extremely slow lately?

FIFA 11 virtual pro clubs is the worst victim of EAs poor servers.

 

@Elfin (or anyone else reading this) If you are paying $60 a year for live you are doing it wrong...there are many, many sales throughout the year that offer a year for $38-48...You can buy two cards at that price and save them for when your live is about
to end.

 

Yeah, I know and in fact I got a 'code' that was supposed to get it for 1/2 price. Code didn't work, I said to heck with it and just bought it online. Won't do that again!!

 

Look for sales from reputable retailers (toys r us, amazon, game stop...) stay away from individuals on ebay/craigslist.

 

@Blue, very fair, but extreme point, I don't think it's that simple with some things like games, books, films etc though as often content can surprise you in ways you didn't expect and be really enjoyable. Your example of the dog "products" I'm firmly in
the closed mind club!

 

Well put blue as a nearly 30 year old man I think I know whether I like most things in life. I deffo know what types of games I like. GwG has provided me with 2 so far.

Despite the extreme counter point, I stand by what I said. Generally people already have purchased AAA titles. Some of these games may shock you. If one truly believes that he or she may not like the game available... then disregard it. But don't come
whining in the forums that Xbox didn't read your mind, and know your games library to give you the game that you wanted.

 

To expect a free $50-60 game each month is absurd (that comes to about $600-720 a year). We are getting $10-20 games plus an online gaming service, more than reasonable.

 

We got $80+ worth in April alone, that covered everyone`s subs for this entire year.

Yet still they complain.

 

^^ People are idiots. The 360 GWG has increased my backlog immensely. I still haven't played games like Darksiders and MX from ages ago lol. Mafia tomorrow! I really need to get on my 360. Maybe I'll play my One during the day, 360 midnight and later.. forget
sleep. Must work thru backlog! lol.

I agree with a Blue Illusion. Sure I may pass up on a good game, but even if I haven't played it, I can kind of know whether or not I'll like it. There have been too many times that I did jump in and gave a game a chance that I didn't want only to find out
I was right and I didn't like it. I felt it wasted my time.

Like I said I may be wrong sometimes, but I'm okay with that.

 

I don`t get why anyone passes up on a game because they don`t fancy it at the time.

It takes seconds to start the download and then cancel it, leaving that game in your history forever.

Who knows, two years from now you may fancy playing it.

I have dark souls and street fighter downloaded for free and not played them once, yet.

@Boas, you are missing the point entirely.

If you had bought these games and not enjoyed them, by all means tell us all how disappointed you are.

But these games are free, if you don`t enjoy them don`t play them, just wait on next months free game instead.

Making out microsoft are ripping you off in some way, or you are not getting your monies worth out of the free games, is quite simply pathetic.
