Games with Gold February 2014

I got bored quick with Dead Island , wish we got Metro 2033 instead !

 

^^^ ..... or Metro Last Light and Bioshock Infinite like that other service on that other console.... pffft!

Sony are marketing it as new free games. For the most part the games are fairly recent releases.

Microsoft need to start pushing the fact that you get to keep the Games for Gold when you drop a subscription level.

At the moment both services seem to be pushing "hey guys. We give games for free with our subscription service". If that is all customers see, then Sony is always going to win.

For someone like me it makes no difference whether it's classed as "rented" or "your own game" ...

On both subscriptions, one has 11 months to go, the other almost 2 years so I look at it as how many games do I buy personally that I play for this length of time? very few and even if there was a free game offered that I would play for 1-2 years maybe, again
unless something drastic happens and I have no money, then I will always be a paid subscriber.

Not wanting to get into a whole comparison debate but from my own point of view Microsoft need to do more in this area but at the end of the day as MGF said, a free game is a free game.

 

Only it's not free, because you have to subscribe to something paying money for it

Microsoft do have to up their game (no pun intended) if they want to compete with the fantastic games on offer for PSN subscribers.

 

You have to subscribe to a service to get "free" games from both MS and Sony.

Ok, if you stop subbing to PSN you can't play the games anymore, but it makes absolutely no difference to me as I sub to both anyway and very very rarely let either lapse.

Anyway, this whole Gold vs PS+ argument is getting old now, each to their own, live and let live and basically.

 

It is misleading because those who're not aware think they'll get free games on Xbox/PS simply by owning, not that they'll need to pay a subscription.

You do keep the games forever on Xbox but on PlayStation when your Plus account expires it's over. I was kinda annoyed at that because the Plus games I had no longer worked any more.
