Juan from the Xbox Listening and Advocacy Team got in touch, and was able to arrange it so that I could get this game free of charge, as I'd been offered (despite the offer being made erroneously).

The Dashboard 'Games with Gold' area has been fixed up, and now looks to be working as intended.

Mistakes do happen sometimes, that's life, but the important thing is to put them right for those affected. The Xbox Team have done so for me in this case, and I really appreciate their support (thanks Misses Q, and Juan! Keep up the good work!).
