Games with Gold - Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons = Currently advertised, but not actually ...

On New Zealand Xbox 360 Dashboard, two games have just appeared available for free download this week. Both games appeared available on (if I recall correctly) Monday 16th Feb - there were no 'Games with Gold' titles advertised earlier in February.

I have been trying unsuccessfully to download 'Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons'.

When I select the 'Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons' tile (which states 'FREE with Gold'), I am taken to a screen where I can either download the demo version, view the full game, or pin the game to the Home Screen 'Pins' sub-menu.

When I select 'View Full Game' for the Brothers title, its indicated that it will cost NZ$19.75 to buy. So, not "FREE with Gold", as it is currently advertised to me. (The 'Sniper Elite V2' title advertised alongside it is available to download, i.e. the
full game for free.)

I note from the Xbox Live website, and from talking with Xbox support team staff, that 'Brothers' was supposed to have been offered from 1st to 15th Feb. It was not offered through the Xbox 360 Dashboard during this time, but it is being offered now.

I have taken photos and video to demonstrate that the offer of 'Brothers' for free download is still current on Friday 20th Feb, on the NZ Xbox 360 Dashboard.

There appears to be a glitch here, with the promotion of this offer in New Zealand. I would like to take up the Games with Gold offer which is currently being promoted, i.e. obtain the license for 'Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons' for my Xbox 360 console. As
a paid-up Xbox Live Gold member, I'm feeling quite put out that I've not been able to do this so far. Can someone please assist me in obtaining this game?

I was able to get #IDARB for free with Games with Gold but Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons is still saying $15

 

Wtf xbox live gold?! The repeating free games?!

Am I the only one that thinks its f***** up that Xbox is offering brothers a tale of two sons for free with gold again? The game sucked the first time. Come on Xbox give us some real games not this stupid bull crap

 

Support would be the only ones who would have the ability to get you the price, however once a promotion is over it's usually not possible to get that price.

Thanks - Xbox Support asked that I post here, and advised that the team who can help with this would see the post and action it from these forums. Seems like an odd way to provide customer service (something I know a little about), but it's only fair to

Sorry but you were misinformed. As Smwutches has said above, only phone support can assist you with this.

 

Xbox Phone Support told me to come here (literally RIGHT HERE, talking me through which links to click, where to post), and the Community tells me to talk to Xbox Phone Support.

I do appreciate your taking the time to provide that info, Smwutches and onyx62is.

This looks like I'm now in an infinite loop, which puts some choice descriptive words in mind regarding the 'support' I've had thus far from the Xbox Support Team. They've been polite, but haven't provided any actual help so far, which is quite frustrating.
I've paid for a subscription service, have encountered a problem accessing part of the service that's being offered to me, and have apparently received a brush-off. I hope that's not the case.

Xbox Support Team - have I in fact been misinformed? I was advised by your phone support staff that there are official Xbox Support Staff who monitor these pages, eager to help customers. I trust that the manual doesn't recommend misleading customers in
order to get them off the phone, so I'd appreciate the support I've been offered (and even more so, the game I've been offered).

 

Hate to say it but phone support have a habit of telling people to post on the forums just to get you of the phone or if they have no idea what to do.

Glad to hear it.Not all phone support do this,in fact in my experience up until this week the majority will do their best to help you,unfortunately I was fobbed off with a "post on the forums" answer this week,didn't work with me though

 

Well, I don't mind whether it's online chat support, phone support or forum support - I'd just like this resolved fairly. Hoping that it's "Third time's the charm"!

 

I've been checking every day - the offer is still currently being made to me via the Xbox 360 Dashboard, as at 14:15 NZDT (and of course, the title is still not available free as advertised).
