Games with Gold and some Digital Purchases will not download fully

I regularly can not fully download a game. It will freeze and can't even pause or cancel it. It's been happening ever since xbox one s release when i bought it. It became such a hassle I stopped buying digital games. I do own around 23 digital games
that I have not been able to download and play on my xbox one s. Had no problems on my original xbox one. It's gotten to where every couple of months I'll try to DL some and I might get lucky but most of the time they just freeze like before.

Is this an ongoing issue with xbox live that seems to come and go and I just keep getting unlucky and trying it when it's not working?

This issue has kept me from upgrading to xbox one x and have considered a PS4pro.

I have read all the FAQ and tried the trouble shoot.

Digital games more expensive than physical games?!?

At least with digital books and movie streaming you get instant gratification with the media on your device ready for consumption seconds after purchase. Not so with digital download games since it often takes overnight to download. With the exception
of cheap small file sided Indy titles and free Xbox gold stuff there is no financial or time savings reason to opt for digital downloads.

Digital download suggestion

Hi !

I have an idea for people like me who don't have a very fast internet connection and want some games in their digital versions :

Let's say one of your friends have a retail version of Dead Rising 3, he or she lends you the game, you install it on your hard drive, then you go to the Games store and purchase the digital version of the same game. Instead of downloading the whole game,
it just downloads an activation file and you don't need to go through a 35Gb download. Take the disc off of the drive and enjoy a fully digital game with no download required

Since Ecuador is not a fully supported Xbox Live region, not all features may work. You may be able to download and play some games, but due to it not being fully supported. You could run into issues purchasing games or downloading free Games with Gold for
example. If you'd like to see Ecuador as a supported region, we'd suggest submitting your feedback through

first of all, the game was bought or received by games with gold (since for some mistake the server may not let you play at the moment) if it was purchased it is physical or digital format (the discs can be damaged over time and therefore may not let you
play though you have the download), in case it's digital and purchased try downloading your profile again (it won't affect your apps and games) this process is fast as it weighs no more than 100 Mb

the game was delisted completely, and if it was obtained via games with gold can no longer be downloaded either and the games servers are fully offline also.

Evolve can no longer be re-downloaded from Purchase History, at least if it was received as part of the Games with Gold program. The game was offered to Xbox Live
Gold subscribers in March of 2017.

The install file is different from the file you would download if you purchase the digital copy. You would have to fully download the file in order for the game to run. Otherwise you'd still need the disc in order to play the install.
