Games with Gold always downloading as corrupt!

ok this has gone on long enough! Every gwg game I downloa is corrupt! This is the 10 time at least, I think since june. I've turned off my console, cleared catche and all that jazz and it never works. I have to say that sometimes it downloaded after 1000
attempts but only 1 or 2 titles. I've bought games digitallay from the marketplace and addons and everything worked fine. So why won't the gwg games work after they download? Why always corrupt??

I have the same problem, I have tried downloading three times Fable 3 and my previously redeemed Skyrim, but they always end corrupt, I don't understand why this happens, I tried deleting cache, downloading the game from the webpage but I didn't has luck

WPAK's tips are solid. If there are any corrupt items on your Xbox 360's HDD, this could cause issues with downloading content, which includes profiles. Following up with clearing the system cache is always a great follow up step, especially after clearing
any corrupt files.

1. Which country do you physically live in?

2. Which country is your gamertag set for?

3. Which console do you own (FAT, S or E)?

4. What size hard drive do you have and where did you purchase it?

 

Gwg used to download fine for me until this summer

USA account now in Germany, have been for a few years and gwg worked fine so if Microsoft has changed something since June.....

Thanks for replying. I believe that your issue is going to be regional. If I'm reading your response correctly then you live in Germany with a US account. Some content cannot be downloaded to regions they were not intended for and this would be the reason
it is coming in corrupt.

Please try migrating your account to your physical location and I think you'll find you will no longer have issues.

 

But I have downloaded gwg titles from Germany with the same US account since gwg started without any problems. Only games that are not allowed in Germany would not download because of strict German rating rules (mature ratings) These "mature" games usually
would not go on my download queue. Since June the games will download normally but after download, 100%, they appear on my hdd as corrupt. Like I said sometimes after several download attempts a game might not download as corrupt

 

Yes because of your accounts region

For example if you keep pushing download even with an region error you will eventually download it but it doesn't prevent the final check

For example gears dirt dungeon seige tomb raider and various other games are region locked

And will corrupt if you using a vpn or some other ways to bypass the region locks

The system checks near the beginning and the end if you have the right ip if you have an incorrect region it will fail.and cancel the download hence the corruption

For the best experience with live you're account region must reflect your actual region

They havent changed anything since June the region locks have always been enforced

Only xbox one gwg have less region locked content

And the majority of recent games with gold have been region locked so you would've run in to the issue quite a few times unless you are using something you aren't supposed to like vpn then you take your risks with content

 

Most gwg titles have been available in Germany and are not region locked. My friend downloads them all the time here. On my German account I can download them but I don't have two gold accounts on my console

 

Yes I understand region locking. I just don't understand why all of a sudden gwg titles that are not region locked download is corrupt. If they are not available in my region they do not even download. These newer titles have downloaded but have downloaded
as corrupt. Whatever. The recent titles have been *** anyway

 

You.don't seem to know how region locks work

Yes your "friend" with a Germany accounts can download them.because his account region matches his "actual region"

But you can't because your account region doesn't match your actual region

Us account Germany physical location us game = failure or corrupt download

German account German location German game = bliss

If the game is available in germany yes you can download it but only German region locked content will downloaded in germany not Us or uk content as you dont have the rights to them

Only people in the US can downloaded us region locked contrnt

That's how region locked content works

If you are using s vpn we cannot tell you what's wrong or how to fix it

It's an violation of the terms of use to use one

 

Being region locked doesn't mean it's not available in your region it means that you cannot get that us or uk version without being in UK or us

You would only be allowed the localized copy for the region you are physically in

 

In some cases yes it also means it isn't available in your marketplace rarely though but it prevents you from using u censored content that isn't allowed and use the censored for germany or new Zealand etc
