There's a recent topic from someone about what, if I recall correctly, was an LG TV...from what I managed to find, Dolby Vision and 120Hz cannot be used at the same time...if you disable DV on whichever HDMI port the Xbox is connected to, then you should be able to use 120Hz

Games will only download one at a time no matter how many you have in the queue...it's not possible (far as I know) to get the system to download 2 or 3 at a time

As to games etc, my understanding is that games that are specifically Series X/S can only be played from the internal drive....any games not X/S specfic can be run from an external drive.

Main Xboxes left to change? Do i assume you are asking about how many more times you can set your home console to somewhere else? I'm not sure there is anywhere that lists how many switches are left, just that it will tell you if you hit the yearly limit (5). But I may be wrong

Edit: Just checked and the post about DV and 120Hz was about a Sony TV, not LG but the same principle will likely apply there.

Further edit: So, LG are rolling out 120Hz Dolby Vision via an update on it's 2021 OLED TVs. Apparently they are also testing the feature on some 2020 models bbut not sure which ones so you'll have to keep an eye out

My screen turn on black when i try to run a game on 120 FPS

Hello, first it's a pleasure to be able to help you today.

My name is welcome to the community.

Hello Eslam, does this happen with all games or just with a specific game?

See the link below how to set up your console to 120 FPS.

"Games that have been boosted to 120 FPS require a 120 Hz-capable TV and your console's display settings set to 120 Hz. If your TV or console is not configured to support 120 Hz, FPS boost will be grayed out."

    Xbox series X 4K 144hz

Well no of course not it depends on the game you are playing NOT all games support 120hz

Also should be noted you MUST turn on FPS boost

the games themselves under settings from the dashboard

Most games will only support 60hz at 4k

120 Hz is an option but not universally supported

The FPS boost affects 93 games if remember correctly but ita a mixture of 60-120hz plus hdr support

Games will sometimes decrease the resolution to get 120hz btw and as said before it depends on the game

Why is my Xbox Series S having significant Frame Drops in certain games?

    Hi Bear Hoops,

Welcome to Xbox Community Forum. Thank you for sharing your concern with us today and we hope that all is well.

We understand that you are having issues with your recently played games, and you were getting 60 - 80 FPS. Let us check on this together and sort this out in timely manner.

We would like to confirm if you have tried the enabling FPS boost and auto HDR for your Xbox Series S? This way, there will be an increased number of frames per second in select games, giving you a smoother visual experience and more immersive gameplay and richer visuals to select games.

To enable FPS Boost and auto HDR -

    1. Press the Xbox button on your controller to open the guide, and then select My games & apps > See all.
    2. Highlight the tile of any game and then press the Menu button.
    3. Select Manage game and add-ons.
    4. Select Compatibility options.
    Note:

Not all game titles offer this compatibility options.

FPS boost and auto HDR aren’t available for all backward compatible games. For unsupported games, the option to turn on these features is greyed out. If the game doesn’t support either option, the Compatibility options feature won’t appear.

You may also try 120 Hz FPS setup -

Games that have been boosted to 120 FPS require a 120 Hz-capable TV and your console's display settings set to 120 Hz. If your TV or console is not configured to support 120 Hz, FPS boost will be grayed out.

    1. Make sure that your console is on the latest update:
      • Press the Xbox button to open the guide, and then select Profile & system > Settings > System > Updates.
      • Select Update console and apply any updates as needed.
    2. Make sure that your TV supports the 120 Hz refresh rate. This varies by TV model. Be sure to consult your owner’s manual for your TV to enable this.
    3. Change your console display settings to 120 Hz:
      • Press the Xbox button to open the guide, and then select Profile & system > Settings > General > TV & display options.
      • Select Refresh rate > 120 Hz.
        • Note If you don’t see an option for 120 Hz, select 4K TV details under Setup for more information.
    4. Enable FPS boost in the compatibility settings for the game:
      • In My games & apps, highlight the game desired, and then press Menu > Manage game & add-ons > Compatibility options.
      • Enable FPS boost.
Note: Native HDR games that are boosted to 120 FPS need to have HDR disabled if your resolution in video settings is set to less than 4K.

Please check this support article to learn more: Configure your console for FPS boost and auto HDR | Xbox Support

We look forward to your response. Kindly let us know, if there is any misunderstanding or clarifications of our description by sending us a reply.

    4K TV 120HZ vs 60HZ for Gaming.

Frame rate(fps) and Hz are two different things! See https://www.cnet.com/news/ultra-hd-4k-tv-refresh-rates/ . It will explain well!

Make sure your 4K TV has HDR10! That is the standard for Xbox One X! Some have HDR, but use lower/old standard(HDR8). Dolby Vision has their own(HDR12)-HDR10+2(metadata), better but DV charges a fee! See...

    FYI!

I was looking at Samsung MU6300 until I saw above link. Now with prices dropping for 4KTV's I went with MU8000!!! LOVE IT!!! (looked at Sony XBR900E-has Dolby Vision)
