Games will not play and most areas of the dashboard in the game area are just spinning.

I did have an issue signing in, (which was posted on other thread) but now games will not play and most areas of the dashboard are just spinning. I have tried rebooting the machine, but nothing works. If/When there is a game in the tray, it just goes to
a black screen and locks up. I shut off auto read disk and tried putting in the game after signing in, but nope still won't work. Very frustrating. after reading all the issues here with xbox 360/one, I feel I made the wrong choice in a new gaming console.
Hope this gets resolved with no further issues.

Installed a game to hard drive, runs from DVD anyway

I noticed a similar thing when playing Dragon's Dogma. The disc would continue spinning after starting the game, and only stopped when I transitioned to a new area.

If you fast travel, or enter one of the internal areas, does the disc stop spinning?

This just happened to me as well. Can't load any game. Just a black screen.

 

I am still having an issue with playing games gets stuck when loading the profile settings. Also youtube won't work or explorer. Netflix works

 

the same thing has happened to mine. no games or apps will work and when i try and dashboard out of the screen it just freezes up. microsoft needs to find a fix soon.
