Games Update - installation stopped

Hello

I bought my Xbox One is 3 months. Everything was good until the games starts to update.

When a game try to update, it downloads some of % of content but for some reason the download stop and I got the message “installation stopped”. After I've tried many times to continue the update, it takes less than 10 seconds to returns me the same error "installation
stopped".

I've tried to reboot the Xbox holding the power button and doing the "cache release" but still the same, or simply downloading the content in another house (connection) and the same thing.

The only solution I've got was deleting the game content and dowloading all over again, the full game.

It is really annoying because my internet connection is not so good to do downloading games all the time. Not counting that I need to wait to play, like 2 days (GTA, BF, Mad Max and other big games).

What should I do to fix this?

OverWatch won't update why it keep on saying installation stopped

Fixed for me too. Remaining game updates and a few game demos have now downloaded with no 'Installation Stopped' issues. Thanks.

I am sorry you're experiencing this, however I believe I may be able to help you!

When updating the game, make sure you have enough space left in your console. You can check this by going to Dashboard > My Games & Apps > Bottom Left. It should display the percentage you've used on your console, if its in the 90% of used, then I would
look at the amount of required space the update needs.

If you're sure you have enough space, I would really suggest you don't play any other games while the update downloads, as that may cause it to interrupt as well.

About the enough space, I have 62% used, and as an example, I had this issue with GTA 2 days ago, and since GTA started to try to update, I'm not playing any other game.

I have a theory about it, when the internet connection is not so good, it has a chance to corrupt the update files, which is the reason I can't to continue to update.

I think Microsoft should do an option to "restart" the update only, I mean, if Xbox has windows engine, we should be able to work with points of restoration before any operation of update or download.

 

OK, so you have enough space as well as you say you don't have a connection thats strong enough.

May I ask, are you wired or wireless. If you're wireless I would suggest connecting wired directly to your router or modem and see if that works.

If you're wired and it's still not working I would suggest doing a speedtest at
Speedtest by Ookla - The Global Broadband Speed Test and see how much download speed you have. If it's no more than 5, I would make sure any other electronic in your household isn't downloading anything, uploading anything whether
it be FTP, video, etc, and either downloading any other large file except the update on your console.

This way your Xbox One can have "most" of the speed from your internet plan to do any updates needed.
