    Games that I owned on my old external hard drive it will not let me download again.


    I had a bunch of games on my old external hard drive that I downloaded. My old external hard drive had a failure and it would not let me connect to any devices. Now all the games I had owned are gone and now I have to pay to get them back? What the heck!
    The games that I had were Madden NFL 16, NBA 2K16, WWE 2K16, Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege, Rocket League, and Halo 5 Guardians. Will I be able to get codes to get them back or some other way?

    i have been looking at external hard drives for awhile now and was thinking would i be able to use my old computer external hard drive? flash drives u can just configure so how would a external hard drive that you use for a computer b any different. so my
    question here is can i use a computer external hard drive for my x-box slim by configuring it? or would it not let me do that?

    Why Can't I Always Download To My External Hard Drive?

    I have an external hard drive that hardly has anything in it and my Xbox always detects my external hard drive when I boot-up. Why is it now every time I want to download a game I have to free-up space in my internal hard drive? Why can't I download to my
    external hard drive anymore? I'm fed-up with this. I paid a lot of money for an external hard drive and I have to keep on uninstalling games from my internal hard drive to download new games. Then when I want to play the other ones again and I to uninstall
    something else and spend ages install the other game again. My external hard drive has only used about 30GB's and it's a 1TB hard drive. I just bought GTA V and I had to uninstall two games from my internal hard drive. It should have downloaded to my external
    hard drive. How do I fix this? Thanks.

    As long as you're using the same account that purchased them, they should show in your Ready to Install area and you can redownload them for free from there.

    Yeah as smw said, if you are signed into the profile you made the purchase with you can go to my games and go to the ready to install section and everything should be there

    If the games aren't showing in your ready to install queue then I would recommend

    power cycling     your Xbox One.

    Yeah as smw said, if you are signed into the profile you made the purchase with you can go to my games and go to the ready to install section and everything should be there

    If the games aren't showing in your ready to install queue then I would recommend

    power cycling     your Xbox One.

    Hi Anonymous,

    I had a similar issue, here's how I resolved it. For the games that failed the initial install, try to install them again. Usually if a download is interrupted, (or if a game is interrupted when moving between storage devices) reinstalling the game will
    fix that problem, and allow other games to install to that hard drive again. I would try this before reformatting the hard drive.

    If it doesn't let you install it because the external is connected, disconnect, download, and then reconnect the external, then move the new download to the external.

    I had this problem moving Forza Horizon 4 between hard drives over the weekend and this method worked.

    I moved my games from the internal hard drive to the external hard drive to see if my games won't kick me to the dashboard I tried it yesterday with a external hard drive I had never used for my Xbox. My games were never on the external hard drive they
