Games taking too long to start and installing problems...

Hey everyone,

So I have had this same re-occurring problem for the past week now. I have never experienced this same problem the entire time I have owned my Xbox One, but some of my friends have said they have had similar issues but they have self resolved.

Here is my problem:

When I try to open games or apps it will come up with a notice saying, "(game/app name) has taken too long to start."

I believe this only happens when I have another game or app updating or installing.

Also...

When I try to install updates and download games it will just say "downloading..." but the game will never start downloading. I have already had to uninstall Halo 5 and Mortal Combat X from my console now. Both times that I have done this my previous problem
has been fixed, but I do not want to end up with no games on my Xbox due to these issues that I am having.

Is anyone else having the same issues?

Can anyone get me in touch with someone that can help me fix this?

I would really appreciate it if someone could help me out.

That's a pretty old thread , each of you should start your own as it may have different solutions...

Game taking too long to start

I can't get FIFA15 to start. Says it is taking too long. Error code 0x8027025a.

Have hard rebooted and cleared cache about 15 times now with no success. EA support says it's a Microsoft issue. Anyone else encountered this? Any ideas on how to resolve?

I'm sorry to see any issues with launching games! One of the things we noticed is exactly what you have: This is occurring when users are downloading items.

One of the things we suggest in these cases is a
factory reset. I had this issue on my personal console a few months back, but it did end in needing a replacement console; the hard drive in my console had failed.

Give the factory reset a shot. You can try with keeping your games & apps, but if that doesn't help try a full factory reset. Let me know how it goes!

Every time I do a factory reset on my console I have to download my profile again.

I still think others would be experiencing the same problem if it was a software fault.

I'm having this problem with Madden 16. Reset my console about 10 times. Nothing happens. Infuriating.

Have you tried reinstalling the game, and are you installing the game on the internal hard drive or do you have an external hard drive.

Can you tell us which games? Some servers are having really bad issues right now, especially Activision. If it is non-COD games then it could be something with your network as Xbox Live is running pretty well right now.
