Games Saved from Broken Xbox

Thanks for reaching out to the Forums for advice on the situation. happy I'd be happy to clarify how it would work in this instance. Needing Xbox Live to save your games only applies to the 360. On the Xbox One, game progress is normally saved automatically
to the Cloud every time you are able to connect to the internet. If you are playing offline though, it will save your progress to your console. If your console is broken though, as it is in this case, you might lose your progress if you don't connect to our
servers through the internet and open the game up.

When you get the chance, turn the console on, and see if you can connect it to the internet then play the game so that your most recent progress is saved instead. You should be prompted to continue from the save stored on the console of start over from the
last time you were signed into Live.

Additional question - my broken console sometimes will turn on for a few minutes before it shuts itself off automatically. If I'm able to get on it and sign up for Xbox gold while it's on, will my games when be transferred to my new xbox?

It IS an Xbox One.

So my progress should be saved as long as I am signed in online EVEN if I am not and have not currently been paying for Xbox Live?

when you say you have been playing RDR2 offline, do you mean that your Xbox was set to offline and that you had no internet or do you mean that your Xbox was connected to the internet but that you were playing the story mode?

if you were connected to the internet then your saves should be stored in the cloud, just make sure you allow the saves to sync up when you start playing on your new Xbox

I am signed in online WITH internet, but playing in Story Mode, yes.
