Games randomly crashing at various points

I just bought a series X in February and wanted to play the new Hogwarts game. It was fine at first but for whatever reason, no matter what game I am playing, they crash to the dashboard at various times. It’s now happening with Jedi Survivor and I couldn’t be more frustrated.

Sometimes it crashes on the start up and loading screens, other times it waits and crashes within minutes of starting to play. If I can get 10-15 minutes before a crash, I’m lucky.

I can’t finish either of these games because I keep having to try to save before a crash and it’s the worst. I’m replaying the same levels multiple times hoping it doesn’t happen again.

I have tried all the resets as well. I’ve spent more time on the internet looking up how to fix this than even playing.

I was able to play for 30 minutes. Then it crashed to the dashboard.

I cleared the local saves. Rebooted the game and it crashed on the loading screen back to the dashboard.

I just did a power cycle. So I’ll see how it goes. I’ve power cycled before and it would help temporarily. I’ve also done the factory reset and kept my games.

It’s just frustrating trying to save constantly not knowing when it’ll crash again.

If the issue happens after their system update, you may as well report the issue via the Report a problem app for Team Xbox to properly investigate the issue.

Sorry to hear about what happened. Let's do our best here to sort this out.

May I know what resets have you tried specifically? Did you mean factory reset of your console (keep games & apps)?

Other steps to try:

- Clear your local saves
Press the Xbox button to open the guide.
Select Profile & system > Settings > System > Storage devices.
Select Clear local saved games.
Note: Selecting this option will not delete any games or progress you have saved in the Xbox cloud. It will only clear data you have saved locally.
Select Yes to confirm.
Once your console restarts, try playing the game again.

- Be sure to plug in your console directly to the wall outlet and do not use any surge protector.

- Power cycle console.
Press and hold the Xbox power button for 10 sec until it turns off. Unplug from the power source for 30 sec. Plug it back in and turn it on again.

Everything went fine last night. Started it up tonight and it crashed in the load screen of Jedi Survivor on my first try.

Went to try to download the Report a Problem app and now the store is stuck on an update. So it won’t download the app.

This is the worst.

Known game issue, there have been multiple reports of the game crashing at various points, or consoles just turning off while playing SP.
