Games (physical or digital) and Apps wont launch

Hey Guys,

As of two days ago my X1 has stopped playing games and loading apps. Anytime I put a disc in I can hear my X1 trying to load the disc but nothing happens. When I press A to load the game all I hear is the 'dong' noise but nothing loads. When I try to load
a digital game or app this happens: Animated GIF - Find & Share on GIPHY I can access my friends list, settings, and can still browse the shop and what-not. No error code ever
pops up.

Here is what I've tried so far to fix it:

• Hard reset along with unplugging and waiting 10 seconds
• I tried switching from "Instant On" to "Energy saving"
  
• Looked at the wiki page but I don't see this issue there
  
• Tried various apps and games, and none will load
• Searched Xbox Support
  
• Removed my account then added it back

If anybody has any insight or other suggestions it would be greatly appreciated. I have a Day One console so I'm sure my warranty is no longer valid.

Hey guys, if you're experiencing this issue with all games and apps you try to launch and a

power cycle of your Xbox One console did not solve the issue, please try a
soft factory reset of your Xbox One console selecting the option

to keep your games and content to avoid having to download them again.

Any changes with this experience after that?

 

Have you tried clearing the cache on the console? If not try this:

Instead, follow these steps to clear cache on an Xbox One: Press and hold the power button on the front of the console until it powers down completely. Unplug the power cable from the back of the console so that the power brick in not connected to the console.
Press the power button on the console three or four times.

 

Thanks for the reply; I'll give that a shot. Silly question - do you press the power button 3-4 times when it's still unplugged? (Just wanting to clarify)

Just gave it a whirl and it looks like it made things worse.

I booted up the X1 and when it loaded up my account wasn't signed in. I then went to sign in and nothing happens. The screen dims briefly like it was trying to transition everything to my settings, but nothing happens. So now I can't even sign in. haha

 

Sounds like maybe it didn't update properly , was the internet connection working ok 2 days ago before all this started ?....either way I'm thinking you may be looking at a factory reset...

Looks like a factory reset resolved the issue.
