    Games not working properly on external hard drive.


    I have a Hard disk which i formatted for my xbox series x. Games install on the external hard drive but when i try to run the game the title screen appears but then a black screen then the game crashes. This has been the case with all the games i try to install on the external hdd and i made sure they are not optimised for series x/s. Can anybody help??

    Some games out there require the xbox hard drive in order to work properly. Why not just buy the hard drive for it instead of something external.

    Regular external hard drives are not fast enough to run Series S/X enhanced games properly. So those games can only run from the internal drive or the Seagate expansion card (as that is currently the only external device that will work for those games).

    The majority of external hard drives will work on the xbox one.

    There are some that don't work properly but your Samsung should work just fine.

    Upon checking my records here, it seems to be an issue with the internal hard drive. Is there a chance that you can transfer the games to an external hard drive and see if it syncs properly after that?
