Games not wanting to update and install downloads

if you install a game from disc you often will be asked if you want to update the game.

Always answer this question with NO ! during the install process !

After the installation is completed, start the game and then you can download the update.

So the best thing to do with a disk game is to download the game offline then install the update. Go to settings, network, and go offline. Once the download finishes, go back online for it to install the update.

if you want your games to update while the console is off you need to put it in "Instant On" mode.

Am I reading this right? It's prompting you to update the game. And instead of downloading and installing the update, you're disconnecting and playing offline. And now you want to know why it keeps telling you to download the update?

I knew if you downloaded a new game and canceled the installation it would remove the game from your console. I didn't know if a game was already installed and it was just updating that it would uninstall the entire game if you canceled the update.

Always remember to pause all if the download is slow or you just want to stop it. And also if you turn off your console then come back to it later and your queue list is empty. Just load up the game that was installing or updating and it will resume downloading.

I think people will always buy boxed games. Because everybody wants to wait for everything to download. The game is installed over the drive and then only the update is downloaded. There is a double wait in the digital game.
