Games not Updating

Hi all,

I am trying to find out some info or help on getting one of my games to update. I purchased the Handsome Collection last Friday. I was finally able to get both games installed after going "Off-Line" to do the install. I turned the network back on and
turned the Xbox One off. The next day I went to play Borderlands 2 and it ask to do the update. I clicked Yes and waited till it came up and said Ready to Start or what ever it says when you can play. The update was not finished so I assumed it would finish
in the background. After 2 days of trying to get it to update it was stuck at 73%. I tried everything I knew to do starting with the reboot, then to uninstalling the game and starting over. Each time it gets to the update and stops at 73%.

Last night I tried the Pre-Sequel and it ask for the update so I started it and was only able to get to 18% on it. Now the two games are going back and forth with one saying Queued and the other a % and then switching.

Oh one more bit of info. These games are loaded on an external USB hard drive, not sure if that matters, especially since the game installed.

What else can I try or who do I turn to?

Personal activity feeds not working since just after 1409 update

Still happening to me too, Activity feed not updating, recent played games not updating and Achievements leaderboard not updating.

 

GAMES NOT UPDATING

hi my games have not been downloading updates lately i have tried downloading my profile to 2 different xboxes they both do the same on each no game updates clearing the cache as done nothing on both xbox 360s any advice

 

You can try doing a cold reset where you power off the unit and pulg it wait 10 sec to clear the system cache.

And just covering bases did you also make sure you have room on your hard drives for the updates?

 

I tried the cold start you are referring to. I actually left it unplugged for about 2 minutes or so.

Yes the hard drive is completely empty and it even shows that on the manage game screen where it shows you the free space available.

 

I'm having the same problem, but no digital installation works for me either. They all freeze. The updates get to 99% but digital full game installs get to random numbers consistently (Halo MCC is stuck on 14% each time I try for me)

 

Ok so I did a complete uninstall of the game and then did the "Hard or Cold" boot. I then installed the game with no problems to the internal hard drive. I then started the update and let it run all night. Got up this morning and the update had once again
stopped at 73%.

I give up, I have done everything except blow the Xbox completely up and start as a new console. The problem has now spanned two different hard drives, several uninstalls and cold boots.

Edit: I did check the updates for the console and it looks like the last completed update was 5/11/15. Not sure if that is the most current or not.

 

5/11/15 is the newest update. Can I ask are you useing wifi for you xbox to update and download games?

If you can may I suggest you use a ethernet cable from your xbox to your router and see if that helps.

before you try I would agin suggest you uninstall what you have download.

 

Nope using a hard wire connection.

 

Update #2:

I still had no luck with my issue after going through everything again. So I resorted to hooking the Xbox One directly to my cable modem and it worked. All updates downloaded. It didn't want to try this method because I knew I would not be fixing my problem
since the Xbox has to run through my router. It is also strange in that I have had had 2 other games and the console itself update through the router.

How do game updates work on Xbox? Does the publisher send the updates to Xbox and then MS push them out or does the game check directly with the game publisher and get the update directly from them. If so could my problem be with the actual publisher's
website update method and not the Xbox? I was able to get Witcher 3 and Saints Row 4 to both update last week through the router, but Borderlands would not. Maybe a Gearbox problem?
