Games not launching (but they were yesterday)

Hello there,

I've been attempting to access games through the Xbox One app on windows 10. Apparently there was an update (?), and now none of my games will launch. I've tried uninstalling/reinstalling, but to no avail. The title screen comes up, but doesn't load
or actually launch the game. Task manager doesn't acknowledge that the app is running. Troubleshooter is useless, as it says it's not a problem it can help with. Support has no information for this type of problem. I need a human.

Very slow startup and games loading

My games wont load. Yesterday they were working fine, but today it wouldnt load.

 

We need a solution!

This will delete your progress but it will sync back after re-launching if you are playing the game while signed in on Xbox Live. before.

 

I also have been unable to connect to my Xbox at all since the 14.14.160008 update.

Prior to update I was streaming my games to Win10 system no problem. After update I was no longer able to connect, I could see my Xbox and even power it on, but not connect. Totally uninstalled and reinstalled, now I can see my Xbox but still not connect.

Someone PLEASE respond to this problem!!!

 

Hi Ness, Sorry to hear your experiencing these issues. We have not observed this issue being reported. It would be of great help if you can reproduce this issue using "Xbox App (Beta), if it does repro immediately use the "Report a problem". This will generate
a report with helpful data for the developers to investigate. Even if it does not reproduce, report it anyway and indicate the app version your using. I will call this out in todays report so the developers can investigate.

Hi Dresdin, the unable to connect to your Xbox is an issue that the developers are investigating. Unfortunately no solutions at this time but developers recommend trying the following troubleshooting tips to see if helps:

I'm not getting a Report option. Some games are now working, like the Minecraft Windows 10 Beta Edition.

What I'm experiencing now is this: I can open a game--we'll use Microsoft Mahjong as an example. I can access Daily challenges and Recent Games, but when I choose "Choose a Puzzle." it force-closes the game. I have uninstalled and re-installed the games
that have been doing this, but that hasn't helped. Could a setting somewhere else be blocking my ability to play these games?

Thanks for the response let me clarify a few things:

1. Everything was working fine prior to the update to 14.14.16008

2. Win10 device is Surface4-Pro

3. I've done all steps and many more then what you have listed in that linked trouble-shooting guide

4. After resetting Xbox and Router to factory defaults I then had to both change the Xbox settings to allow game streaming/glass connection but also had to set it to a static IP and enable port forwarding (53, 80, 88, 500, 3074-3075 3544, and 4500 as per

support.xbox.com/.../network-ports-used-xbox-live) on my router for the Surface to even be able to see my Xbox - but now still can NOT connect

This feature was a primary deciding factor in me purchasing BOTH a surface 4 pro win 10 and xbox one in the last few months along with signing up for a 1yr of Gold subscription...

Ever since yesterday's update - can't even start XBOX (or access the store). I have tried running other built in apps like groove and got an error message stating "cannot open this application" (for the Xbox - even the error message does not appear)

trying to access the store yields a flashing window that disappears immediately,

Hi Ness, Sorry to hear your having issues playing your games. Since this sounds more like any issue with the specific game your playing than with Xbox App, we highly recommend posting your issue to the Gaming on Windows for proper support located here: forums.xbox.com/.../5413.aspx.

Dresdin, We appreciate the additional feedback. By any chance have you had any luck reporting this issue by using the "Report a problem" within the beta app? Even if the beta app can't reproduce it would still be helpful data for the developers. Just indicate
what app version your using and I will report your data to the developers in hopes it will help with their investigations. I wish I could provide you more helpful info to resolve this but all I know is the developers are very aware of the connection issues
and they are investigating. If the developers need more info I will contact you.

I have being trying to logon to xbox to do my daily challenges (microsoft solitaire, suduko, minesweeper and even wordament) via windows 10 and it keeps failing and asking me to check my internet connection, which is perfectly fine. These were all working
yesterday, but not today - is there a problem? I did have some microsoft updates yesterday has this caused the problem?

 

This problem was happening to me for a while until I realised what is happening.

The Problem is not the Xbox app but the game app itself. If the error is that the app keeps randomly closing down or will not even open, It is the app and probably the apps fault or the pc's fault, its actually when trying to play a game or a app.

Most probably have to use a different device to use the app properly.

 

Hi Cool, I haven't observed recent reports about the issue your reporting. Are you just experiencing the issues with the games your trying or is it occurring on a broader list of games? If you can reproduce this issue, immediately report this issue by using
the "report a problem" in beta version of the app. The data captured and reported to the developers would be helpful during the investigation.

Thanks for the suggestion; I'll go over there.

One last thing before I go--I had an error yesterday where I was signed in through the Xbox app, but couldn't sign in to the games themselves; during that time, I could access the full game and choose puzzles. I restarted my computer due to the unspecified
error. That fixed the error, but broke the game again (can't choose new puzzles). So the game itself is okay, just not if I'm signed in. Sounds like a problem with sign-in?
