Games Not Available in Australia

I have noticed that the US is getting different games on their deals for Gold than Australia.

I want to know why we cant download the current baseball game and there was an NFL game a few weeks ago.

I was told by xbox support that the games are not marketed for our region which I think is wrong. Just because they are predominately and american sport doesnt mean we shouldnt be able to download the games here.

Why are some games not available to purchase in the Xbox store in Australia? Non-exhaustive list includes:

1. Blues and Bullets
2. Oxenfree
3. Bedlam - The Game By Christopher Brookmyre

I understand if they've not been classified, but the Bedlam - The Game By Christopher Brookmyre game is available in the Playstation Store in Australia.

 

Xbox free with gold, Halo 3 region locked...

Usually they do offer a different game if the offered game is not available in a certain region. Halo 3 is available in Australia though so you should be able to download it. Is your account region also set for Australia?

 

There is abit more to it than that. The publishers do not bother to get the games a rating in Australia (which costs them money to get) as they know the sales will be poor here. A game cannot be sold here without a rating classification so this is where
the problem lies.

We have had to put up with it since the xbox was released. There is a way around it, we call it (well I do) the American cousin trick.

 

I will just comment that if you change your region to take advantage of free offers from other regions, you can be banned for doing so as a lot of people got stung just this year for doing so.

 

They're not just getting a different game to us, they're getting a new game (Volgarr the Viking) and we're getting a full game unlock for Powerstar Golf, a 12 month old game that has always been free but with limited courses and golfers.

Before I see any comments like "you're complaining about something you get for free, loser" you need to remember that these games are not free and we don't get to keep them. They are included as part of the cost of the xbox live subscription, so when we
get less value for our money than other people simply because of where we live (never mind the fact that we also pay significantly more for everything related to gaming than they do in the US), we do have the right to complain about it. Also, didn't they also
say a while ago that Xbox One users would be getting two games a month? When was the last time that actually happened?

 

Agree we didn't get Sixty Second Shooter prime because they couldn't be bothered spending money to get it rated in Australia. I think the gist was $2000. Agree we should get all games that are available, this is a global console. As for the Viking game I
wasn't aware we were not getting it. Good news for me is id rather have the full game of Power Star Golf.

 

Regardless of whether powerstar golf is any good or not compared to the brand new game they are getting in the US or not, the most annoying thing is, it's now the 3rd of November and we still can't download our game.

Maybe it's still not available because they realised that a game like that is not something that they can show to be adding value to the xbox live gold subscription and are looking for something to put in its place.

Remember, people look at all of these things before making a purchase and if the monthly games included with the subscription are seen to be lacking when compared to the competition, they might just go for the PS4 instead. Especially considering that we've
been only getting one game a month instead of two, and they've been pretty underwhelming for the last few months in a row.

 

Just checked the store. It's showing in games with gold but still has the full price attached to it. What's up with that?

 

I've tried xbox support on twitter and they got me to PM them some photos of what I see when I go to the game in the store and when I go to the games with gold part of the store on the console. That was about 10 hours ago and haven't heard anything back.

I don't even really want Powerstar Golf but it's a little disappointing that almost 4 days in to November, we still can't access out monthly game.

Power Star golf full unlock is now available for free. Still not right having different games for different regions. But ill get more use out of this game.

 

I thought we were suppose to get viva pinata AND red faction last month. So we just got viva? I was looking forward to getting the red faction game too!

 

On the 360, you get the first game at the start of the month and the second game around the middle of the month. Have another look on about the 16th, but bear in mind that regardless of where you actually live, you usually need to wait for the US to catch
up. Therefore, instead of getting it some time in the morning, you will usually have to wait until late that night or even some time the next day.
