Games no longer playable on all accounts?!

What is up with purchased games & free games no longer working across all accounts? My Gears of War Judgment VIP pass suddenly works ONLY on my account, and my son is no longer able to play VIP multiplayer on his account. My husband downloaded Gears of War
3 when it was free on his account & now I can no longer play it on my account. Same with Crackdown. So we are seriously expected to download the free games on EACH gamertag on the SAME console & purchase the SAME game over & over for each person's account
on the SAME console?!

Playable Villain Pack (480 MSP) [No longer available]

But when i try to download them in the game, it tells me that my xbox live account is limited. WTF

Solitaire Update failed Game No Longer Playable

I attempted to update the Solitaire Collection. Update failed and game no longer playable. Checked for support and uninstalled game as suggested. Games remain unplayable. After starting the app goes through several screens saying it is starting but returns
to home screen every time.

I apologize for the frustration which you're experiencing. Unfortunately, the Games, DLC, Content, etc, are all tied to the the associated Gamertag/console you bought with/downloaded. This is why you're experiencing these issues.

Actually that's usually a licensing issue. If you've recently switched consoles or had yours repaired, you would need to perform a license transfer.

So, are you saying that all preowned games that were on discs are no longer playable on the xbox series s without game pass or repurchasing as a digital download?

most likely a majority of the games will require the cloud so they will no longer be playable. its just like when a mmorpg is shut down.

ms will most likely unlock the consoles so the games that dont require the cloud are playable without the check in. if not someone else will hack the xbox.

all the media functionality will still be great.
