Discus and support Games must be ran at least one time to be updated while the console is on stanby? (Theory) in XboX Insiders to solve the problem; I know i am not the first one posting about having problem with the games not updating automatically but I think I might have found one of the source...     Games must be ran at least one time to be updated while the console is on stanby? (Theory)


    I know i am not the first one posting about having problem with the games not updating automatically but I think I might have found one of the source of this problem.

    This morning I looked at the list of games that needed an update and to my surprise they were all games i did not ran since my last factory reset.

    Here's what i tried:

    • I started one of the games that needed an update. (Looked up the list in "Manage" section of My games and apps)
    • I got the notification "Getting your game ready"
    • I got the notification "X Game needs an update"
    • Cancelled it
    • Shut down the console (instant-on mode)
    • Rebooted
    • Surprise! Games is updating

    Can someone with the same problem verify this theory?

    **Sorry for the bad spelling. I am not an native english speaker Games must be ran at least one time to be updated while the console is on stanby? (Theory) :)

    It's because the console updates games and uploads gamesaves to the cloud when in Stanby mode, BLAYNERTFM explained how to disable this

    problem with update digital Forza Horizon 5 - each month

    Forza gets at least one update per month; if the console is requiring an update for the game then it must be an older version of this game. It's possible the console is refreshing after updating then detecting the game update.

    updates!!??

    Don't expect to have 50 mb updates (game/console),on current gen systems.....

    200 mb for an update,it's a (very) small download.

    Xbox one got at least one system update every month + time to time, updates for apps and games that you own.

    But it can be download while the console is in stand by mode.

    will there be anymore updates comming for Xbox one console before the new system comes out (scarlet)?

    Small updates for the console still come through from the Xbox Insider preview rings all the time... so I'm gonna say that there's gonna be at least few "big" updates to the Xbox One for at least a little while through the new consoles lifetime. Updates,
    coding, and software management all take a little bit of time. That being said, its one of things that needs to be waited on.
