Games missing from storage, wonder if New Avatar Editor is buggy

I'll begin by stating that, about an hour ago, I used the New Xbox Avatar Editor that released today.

Immediately after updating my avatar, I attempted to play some streaming media that I had purchased. It was working several hours ago, but suddenly my screen went black. I quit the Movies & TV Shows" app and went back to the Home screen. Yes I'm connected
to the internet,

Then I checked my Games & Apps—and all of them were missing! I went to settings and checked my External HD, and it said that it was 52% full (which is good, it means my games are there) but the only thing to appear was the New Avatar Editor, or whatever it's
called, the one I had just used. Yes, I made sure that I selected the right filters.

I had my Witcher 3: Wild Hunt game in the console so I tried playing that. The load screen came on, but then the screen went black. I got back to the Home screen again.

I tried a hard reset, but no avail. I then deleted the Avatar Editor from my Ext. HD, did a hard reset, unplugged the Ext. HD, rebooted the Xbox One, plugged in my Ext. HD, and it seems everything is working again. I say again, *I GOT IT WORKING AGAIN.*

I had already contacted Xbox Support, so I waited anyway to chat with a human who didn't seem to understand that I had already taken care of the problem, but I wanted to pass along a possible lead to Tech Support:

COULD THE NEW AVATAR EDITOR BE AFFECTING GAME STORAGE AND PLAY? I know that correlation is not cause, but it's interesting that this New Avatar Editor came out today, got saved to my External Hard Drive, and then my games went missing but reappeared after I
deleted the new app; and suddenly I see people on the internet reporting that they can't access their game storage, either, and I figure many of them have probably edited their avatars recently, as well. I'm wondering if the Avatar Editor is problematic.

Avatar Awards wont Unlock

Avatar awards can be redownloaded from the avatar editor, if deleted from xbox storage device.

MISSING AVATAR ITEMS NEED TO BE RESTORED BUGGY NEW AVATAR PATCH FIX PLEASE

 

The new avatar app has actually been out for several days. It's just a coincidence that you used it before the Xbox servers started having issues.

 

When the app released isn't the issue; it's when people are using the app that might be the issue. I used it and then my Games & Apps page showed 3 games where there should be 60—and I have them saved to an external hard drive, and they're not digital
downloads. This means that something was causing them to not appear.

As I said in the original post, the only app that showed up was the Avatar Editor, but none of my game data showed up (though the EHD said the storage space was definitely being used). I deleted the Avatar Editor and my games reappeared. That suggests that
the Avatar Editor might be contributing.

Again, it doesn't matter when the app released, but when people are using it. I used it, something crazy happened. I deleted it, and my Xbox returned to normal. Like I said, I understand correlation is not cause, but this might be something to look into, especially
as everything was working fine directly prior to using the Avatar Editor but not immediately after.
