    so I bought the new mortal kombat game a few months ago. I travel more than I want to and occasionally I bring my xbox. Is there a way to install my games on the xbox so I don't have to bring DISK when I travel?

    You should be able to play it. Can you go to Sign in to your Microsoft account and confirm that you see your game there in the list. If it's there try removing game from Xbox
    and installing it again.

    Hey there.

    Unfortunately no (not without an additional purchase at least), disc-based games must be in the drive to play them (so the system can be sure you still own the game and haven't traded it in or sold it). You can go on to the Xbox Store and buy the digital
    version of the game and that will unlock it to play - no redownload necessary. That would be the only way to remove the disc requirement.
