Games freeze After I tab out

It appears that you are experiencing issues with your games freezing after tabbing out. Let us help you finding solution that can address your concern in a timely manner.

One possible solution is to try running your games in windowed mode instead of full screen. This can help prevent freezing when tabbing out. You can also try running your games in compatibility mode by right-clicking on the game's executable file, selecting Properties, and then selecting the Compatibility tab. From there, you can select a previous version of Windows to run the game in. To run the game in Windowed mode, follow the steps below:

• click on the Windows icon to open start menu > %LocalAppdata% on the search bar and open it
  
• go to the %LOCALAPPDATA% folder > Search for the ‘Prospect’ folder
  
• open the folder and to the Saved > Config > WindowsNoEditor directory.
  
• Under the WindowsNoEditor folder, you’ll find a file called ‘GameUserSettings’
  
• Open the user settings file using any text editor > Set ‘FullscreenMode=1’ to ‘FullscreenMode=0’ to save changes.
  
• then try to launch the game again
  

Another possible solution is to check your graphics card settings. Make sure that your graphics card is set to run at its default clock speed and that any overclocking settings are disabled. You can also try disabling any unnecessary background processes or applications that may be interfering with your game.



If these solutions do not work, you may want to try reinstalling your graphics card drivers or contacting AMD support for further assistance.

I've been having the same issue. The game runs beautifully until I try to break blocks, at which point it completely freezes and I have to tab out and close the game. It's really made the game unplayable at this point.

One possible solution to this issue is to try running your games in borderless windowed mode instead of fullscreen mode. This can help prevent the game from freezing when you switch tabs.



To switch to borderless windowed mode, you can usually find this option in the game's graphics settings. If you are unsure how to do this, you can try searching online for instructions specific to the game you are playing.



Additionally, you may want to try disabling any background applications that may be interfering with your game. This can include antivirus software, system monitoring tools, or any other programs that may be running in the background.

You might also want to contact the maker of your graphics card for that issue.

The way that background recording works, is that a game renders the graphics to a special window area (which is full screen in your situation).

However, when you change to a different window, and the full screen app "disappears", the graphics card has no window plane to render to, and therefore the Xbox capturing app doesn't have anything to capture anymore, which is why there is a black screen
and no sound.

Unless the game window changes to a still visible smaller window among other windows, there is nothing you can do, as the graphics card isn't rendering anything in it's memory, as long as the game window is not visible.
