Games for older players

Hummmm ..... strange input. Just can't figure out what this is all about !

Thanks all for your suggestions. I've watched many of these gameplay and I've came to realize that there's, for one, a learning curve in order to gain abilities and reflexes and that once you possess them, you're naturally looking for more challenging games.
Long story short, I'm just not there yet but I'll sure do be best ;-) Thanks again !

 

No need to go Backwards Compatible. There's plenty to amuse yourself with on the XBox ONE. These suggestions have been tailored to what you said in your opening post.

"Ryse: Son Of Rome"

Still the best looking new release on any platform. You're a Roman Centurion who kills people like a Roman Centurion. Brilliant fun. Some people say "It was repetative" because all you do is kill people like a Roman Centurian, These people should have
read the box. That's like complaining all you do in Madden is play football. Some people say the game is short. Only if you put it on Recruit Difficulty, play nothing else, don't bother to upgrade your Centurion any further after the first playthrough and
ignored multiplayer. Don't let these fools put you off one of the XBox ONE's brightest stars.

"Murdered Soul Suspect"

You can pick this up pretty cheap now. Instead of shooting people or fighting you are a detective who has to solve his own murder. It's really well done and a very different game to play. It's a great alternative to the constant barrage of Shooters they
keep throwing at us.

"Diablo III: Ultimate Evil Edition":

Probably represents some of the best value for money on the XBox ONE. Don't worry if you haven't played "Dialbo I & II". It's a great dungeon crawler that has an absolutely perfect loot system that never fails to keep you coming back for more and more.
From the early beginnings to the lofty top levels you're always finding something even BETTER. A note about that last bit. The game has actually been designed so it can be played... forever.

There's 3 suggestions that will keep you going for a while and spare you the eyesore of going back to last gen.

 

^^ Good suggestion as I forgot about Murdered: Soul Suspect. I thought it was a great game and really well done. It's very underrated. I bought it on sale for €13.00

 

Witcher 3 is hands down the best current generation game to date, in my opinion. Plus it seems to have all the qualities you're looking for.

 

The Witcher 3 is probably the best game I've ever played and I started gaming in 1979.

 

^I agree completely. But I find when I make statements that are too grand, people tend to think I'm exaggerating. I didn't start gaming until 1985, though :-/

 

Change of plan .... started playing Far Cry 4 instead of AC Unity. Great game, exactly what I was looking for. Vast beautiful open world & lots of different things to do.

 

Nice. Far Cry 4 is on my list (as is Witcher 3).

I'm hoping Far Cry 3 is one of the games that will be added to the list of those gaining backward compatibility on the Xbox One. Because that story takes place in a tropical island setting, it came immediately to mind as the setting you were looking for;
problem being it's just not currently available on the One. I was thinking that Far Cry 4, while not tropical, would also be an amazing environment and a lot of fun.

 

How about a list of the pc games you played and like. That will give us a base for recommendations. I would recommend buying older/used games if you want to try them out. I am currently taking a break from Far Cry 4 and Unity for Witcher 3. For shooter
games, either get with a clan near your age, or skill level. Also decide if you in just for fun or worry about your kill/death ratio. You can use the forum to your advantage to. Click on a poster and compare games. This will help you decide if you want to
friend them.

I think you would enjoy the new batman game. I have been playing it since launch and find it great. I also feel GTA V is great but it is a very violent game, I love the series though.

Far Cry 4 is just wonderful + the decor is magnificent & beautiful. Riding elephants, swimming, diving, travelling & driving boats, jet-ski, hovercrafts, cars, flying deltaplane & small helico is so much fun. Perfect game

 

Elite Dangerous-60 minute preview sucks. The clock runs out too fast because they ask you for your email etc running your clock out. They have a flight training video that opens IE and of course IE does not support video and it hoses IE and you have to
reboot the console and then your time has run out on the game. Don't waste your time with this game trial. Graphics were not good.

 

When it comes out fallout 4 will be a great game (or I hope so) open world plenty of things to do, can easily rack up 100 hours in each play through on the old ones and I'm sure this will be no different.

 

Goat Simulator might be good for you to get your grain into.

 

cxbox2007 makes a great suggestion even if he doesn't realise it.

"Elite: Dangerous" is an amazing Space Simulator.

Very heavy and realistic on the Simulator side so if you love attention to detail and a challenge you'll love this game.

You'll spend hours learning the ropes. It's probably the most complex game on the ONE right now but as a result it's also one of the most rewarding.

The game is listed as a "Game Preview Program" purchase and warns you that it's unfinished and may never be released as a final product.

However what you get is the full PC version of "Elite Dangerous" along with all the updates and add ons as they are released.

As a Flagship Games Preview title and a Coup as an XBox ONE exclusive it's unlikely that they won't release the final version.

They've already got over 500K on the ONE alone.

When it releases as the full version you'll not only have already bought the game at half price... you'll actually know what you're doing in it!
