Games for Gold won't download

I just bought an xbox one and signed in with my old 360 gamertag. I punched in a 12 month pre-paid card but when I go to 'games for gold' it says something along the lines of "Join Xbox Live to get games".

I can go onto the xbox settings and see my sub doesn't end til 8/16/2017. And under the settings I don't have any paternal settings so that isn't the problem either.

Any ideas on what is going on?

Question about Free Gold Weekend.

I've never had gold and wanted to try it out. I got an e-mail stating that it would be free to try this weekend only. I logged into LIVE and saw a Free Unlock Gold banner but it won't let me download the game for free. So the question is, can we download
stuff on the gold accounts? And if that's true why won't it let me if gold is free this weekend?

I am having an issue downloading a few specific prices of game content.

Three specific prices of DLC won't download. One being a Game with Gold and the other two BGM extensions for Persona 4 Arena Ultimax. Is this fixable?

Hey there afashionzombie,

Sounds like the account is aware of the subscription, but it just hasn't updated on the console yet. Let's have you try a basic Power Cycle to refresh the profile on the console and see if that does the trick.

Only games that won't work without a subscription are the games with gold games.

Otherwise you would be able to download it again.

Yes, you should be able to play them. But you won't be able to download further games with gold or play them if anyhow the game requires a gold subscription (multiplayer)

If that's the one month trial, the Gold subscription won't show up in your account, since it's free and a trial.

Try to go online and download the free games with Gold, and that should be a proof of your being on Gold.

Cloud storage won't work with a 2 day gold trial. Requires at least a full month of Xbox Live Gold.

If you have Gold on the One you also have Gold on the 360 if you log into the console with the account that has Gold. Buy a month of Gold on the One and use that to load save games into the cloud and access them from the Xbox One. Backward compatible games
won't transfer, they need to be downloaded to Xbox One from within My Games and Apps.

That won't apply to either of these games as they have never been Games with Gold games and you can access Games with Gold 360 games without an active Gold subscription.

You should still be able to download the games regardless of if you're Gold or not. Are you sure you're signed in with the account that purchased them?
