My son requested Battlefield 1 through games for gold as its free currently, more than clear in the shop. i just approved the request on my phone as i have tho inplace to ensure i know what im payong for. Ironocally ive just been charged £35 atraight away
as paypal banner popped up and o didnt even get a prompt to sign into paypal. terrible interface thats not clear at all whats happening! Ill be turning the “payment protection” system off now.

whats the best way to pursue a refund?

If you are asking if you are gonna be charged for the free games with gold games the answer is no. They are free.

Other than that I am not sure what you are asking.

backwards compatible games

Hi,

Gold X360 backward compatible games will always show you a Buy This Game.

But, that's no problem, click on Buy This Game and you will see Free if your Gold Subscription is valid. You will also need a valid payment associated to your account.

Excerpt from the FAQ

"When I try to download a game from Xbox.com I get a message that says "You have no valid payment options on file." Will I be charged for the free Games with Gold?

You won’t be charged for the Games with Gold download. The Xbox.com Store requires a valid payment option to download Xbox 360 games. However, no charges will be made since Games with Gold is free to Xbox Live Gold members."

Hi there,

Star Wars Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy is indeed a free games with gold and should not have charged you for the game. Essentially it still charges you but only 0$. You will still see the transaction in your order history but for 0$.

Does it let you get any of the other two free games with gold and have you always been able to get the free games with gold? Just attempted to get them and see if it charges you or not, but don't complete anything.

If you game share the subscription you won't have access to the free games, but you say you purchased it a week ago so that game should be free.

The "Games with Gold" games you download are yours to keep free of charge. As long as the Gold subscription cards are not "trials" then yes. In order to be eligible to download the free games you have to have a PAID gold subscription. So if you bought the
1 month cards you should be good to go.
