Games downloaded via game pass wont open(PC)

For days now I've tried every possible solution relating to my problem that I've found and nothing has worked. Any time I try to launch a game i downloaded via game pass using my desktop shortcuts, it takes me to the Microsoft store, specifically the gaming services, which is downloaded(also uninstalled and reinstalled). If i attempt to open it in the Xbox app nothing happens at all. Someone please help me so I'm not paying for something I cant even use.
