Games don't work when location changed

For some time, my xbox One (unbeknownst to me) was on USA region. When trying to download a DLC pack for COD I discovered it and changed it to AUS region where I am. Played the new maps fine

My son's game however now no longer works and crashes.

When I changed it back to USA region, his games worked fine.

Is this normal Xbox behaviour? Does this now mean that my game won't work, unless I change it back again, which I gather you cant do frequently.

Would like for all of us to be on the one region

Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag, Not able to get past title screen on Xbox One.

When I uninstalled the game I uninstalled the patch and all the things, and I changed my location to USA and it didn't work, I also to put it as UK and it didn't work.

I changed my location info to the following, restarted, and it worked.

Language: English

Location: Canada

Spoken Language: English (Canada)

When I changed back to USA I had the error again. so, it's probably something on Microsoft's end. I had some games i wanted to buy, though. I don't think it's wise to buy them under Canada?

In different regions the same content might not be available.

From the xbox support page: Xbox One Locales FAQ

"Some content and apps may not be available or accessible in some locations. If your console is set to a different location than the one you live in, you may be able to download and install an app from a different market, but you may not be able to use it.
That app may be geo-fenced (restricted by physical location, not the console setting) and may prevent you from playing content from another country or region"

Especially the older games

360 Blackops is famous for it

Your account region actual region and language region Must be the same for it to work for xbox 360 games

If you buy games or disks out of region like Blackops that would be why

hi i'm from Australia to with the same problem I notice the app done a update and the issues started after that. saying update location nothing worked except changing my location to usa then it worked only problem is u wore on the usa store points still
counted towards my goals as I do it on the pc as well and it say's Australia my pc and points carried over so what I do I change my location to usa to do the challenges and then when i'm done change it back to oz hopefully they fix it soon it's annoying swapping
and changing but it works just be careful when looking at prices of games/movies cause at first I was thinking why is this game so cheap when it's a new game that's when I relized I was looking at usa dollars lol. hope this helped anyone.
