Games don't start anymore and stay in the initial blackscreen

Hey.

On the Xbox of AND my friend a weird and very annoying error pccurs.

I got an Xbox Slim and he got a normal Xbox.

Both on newest Dashboard Update etc and connected properly to Xbox Live.

I tried to start Mass Effect 1 from disc and like I said, the screen fades from the dashboard to black like usual when you start a game, but then stays that way.

I can press the Xbox guide button and use it. But trying to return to Dashboard with ( Y ) causes the Xbox to freeze completly and it needs a hard reset.

That occures so far with Mass Effect 1, Skyrim both from disc and Minecraft, Dark Souls from HDD on my friends console. This occured never before and both Xboxes are basically next to each other, if that matters.

Other games such as Fallout New Vegas and BattleBlock Theater work.

Does someone got an idea what the heck is going on?

Blank Screen when I play a game.

i have the same problem my xbox worked fine last night and now it blackscreens whenever i start up a game

 

Black ops II Multiplayer freezes.

I log in to my account, then I start COD: Black Ops II.

It starts... got Blackscreen.

Xbox freezes while Blackscreen.

I need to restart it by hand.

And that is everytime I start Blops 2.

Black Ops 1, Modern Warfare 2, Battlefield 3 and Minecraft work perfectly without freezes.

If I don't log in to my account and play with Player 1, I can play campaign and zombies, but still not Multiplayer, if I start Multiplayer it freezes and I need to restart the Xbox by hand.

Please help.

 

This is a known issue and support is working on a fix. Hopefully things will be back up and running again soon.

In the meantime, there is a workaround for this. Log out of your gamertag and start the game/app you want to use. When it is loaded to the title screen sign back in to your gamertag. You'll be able to continue on with it from there.

 

This is pretty pretty annoying.

First real game breaking bug I've encountered with the Xbox 360 since 2005.

And what happened to the Microsoft support?

I mean this forum is fine and all, but there used to be a phone Support and all other sorts of stuff.

It was a tremendous support and now it got a fancy interface some smuggy smiling people staring at me on the Support sites and it wanted me to link it to my Twitter Account.

Almost uncanny how bad it got.

Would a cleared System Cache maybe help?

 

Been having the same problem with my Xbox 360 S, sadly the list of games is about to become bigger adding, most disc games, Dust: An Elysian Tail, Castle Crashers, Battleblock Theater, Hydro Thunder Hurricane, And even the game I made a game with zombies
in it.

Haven't tried the workaround yet, but am wondering what data the cache holds.

Wondering if it'll be solved. I noticed this started for me after I updated Netflix but also after Halo 4 claimed I'd used another Xbox Console to play it recently, the only console I use is the one at home, if this helps anyone with this extra info, great,

So Just learned from my friend that it is Xbox Live causing the games to not work

This is a workaround till microsoft fixes things but you need to completely disconnect from Xbox Live, then restart your console.

Systems currently affected by Xbox Live's malfunction include game purchases and the playing of games that normally require download to play, with this temporary work around Skyrim should and can work, my friend is playing it on my console as we speak, note
it may take two tries to get it running, and being connected to the internet on your console will not let games play, your Xbox needs to have absolutely no internet as far as we've experimented.

 

The workaround I suggested works for me but you can try the steps listed at this link as well.

This worked for me. Turn xbox off....unplug internet.cable...start xbox on load game.......after loading reinsert internet cable and you will be asked to sign in....sign in and you should get in.

 

This worked for me. Rather inconvienent though. Hope there is a cure for this...

 

I think mirosoft should figure their [Mod Removed] out I've been loyal to Xbox since the first one now their just sellouts like bungie. Yes I said it deal with it

 

same problem happened to me recently. i checked the support page and did everything that was suggested and i thought it was my hard drive so i went and bought a new hard drive and then to find out that i needed a newer transfer cable, went back out to purchase
that went thru all the trouble of transferring 250 gigs worth of games to find out that same problem happens with the new hard drive.
