Games(disc copies) not starting up after Installed

so i got two games for my X1,

Wolfenstein & Metro Redux and they installed to 100% with no error codes.

as i click on the game to play it starts up then literally 2 seconds later it closes and goes back to home

I've tried the "hold for 10 secs", the "clear persistent storage" and the "clear Alternate MAC settings" options

My X1 is updated to the latest software

3.8GB?

Your console is loud to start with because Skyrim uses the new disc format. Games that use the new disc format will keep spinning for a couple of minutes after starting the game when installed.

And the 3.8GB is due to compression. The whole game is installed. It's just that it is compressed to take up less space.

 

Downloading Games To The Hard Drive

You should always install the disc to the hard drive

1) Its makes the system run faster
2) You don't burn up your DVD drive
3) If you somehow ruin your disk,it works most of the time



If you don't know how to do it, these are the steps - From Xbox.com

1) Insert the game disc into the disc drive.

Note: After you insert the disc, the default option is to automatically start the game. If the game starts, exit the game, and return to the Xbox Dashboard.

2) Go to Home.
3) Highlight the game you want to install with your controller.
4) Press X on your controller.
5) Select Install to Hard Drive.

A progress indicator appears while your game is installed to your hard drive. Installing a game to your hard drive can take up to 12 minutes.

Notes
· Installing a game to your hard drive requires between 4 and 8 gigabytes (GB) of free disc space.
· After installing a game on your hard drive, you still need to have the game disc in the disc drive when you start the game.
· Installing games on your hard drive improves load times and minimizes game disc access.
· Original Xbox games can't be installed on an Xbox 360 Hard Drive.

 

Hi! Sorry to hear about your issue. We can try a system cycle. To do this have your xbox one on. Now hold down the power button for 10 seconds until it shuts off completely. Now you want to unplug every cord from the back of the console and wait 2 mins.
After the 2 mins plug everything back making sure everything is plugged in securely. Now let it reboot. I hope this helps!

 

Hey man! In addition to Elysium's suggestion, if you are still having issues after the full power cycle, I would recommend trying uninstalling BOTH titles, and reinstalling them both while connected to the network. I have heard of some issues in the September
preview involving Metro (I haven't heard of Wolfenstein having problems, but it is possible it's all related to the same issue) where if the game was installed before receiving one of the 1409 preview builds, it caused issues playing the disc until the game
was reinstalled.

I think they may have resolved it, but the above steps were listed as a workaround for anyone having issues, so give it a shot, and good luck!

 

Also having the same problem with disc and digitall games crashing back home instantly ive tried all the above suggestions still doesnt work

 

I did all the suggestions already posted and after further investigation I've noticed that it happens for digital downloads as well. they all fully install then close out immediately.

 

well i figured it out.

when I downloaded the newest System update there was a glitch but it was still installed fully.

so I had to do a "Factory Reset" and redownload the update again.

 

after testing all day. finally figured it out
