Games disappearing-disc games being downloaded instead of installed from disc

It should be both installing from the disc and also checking online for online updates and installing those as well. But if you insert a disc the system will default to that method of installing the game.

Install off line it will be faster as well if wired just remove Ethernet cable if wireless you will need to disable in settings/network when finished reconnect install any updates

Did you know you can download your disc games instead of installing them directly from disc? All you need to do is insert the disc, when the game begins installing, cancel it. Find your game from the Xbox Store, it will show a price, but don't worry about that. If you've found the correct version of the game that matches that what's in the drive an 'install' will show instead of a 'Buy' option.

Selecting install will download the game from Xbox Live instead of the disc. You will still need the disc inserted to play of course, But you can remove the disc with this process and play something else.

This should work on most disc based games. Of course, install time may take longer depending on your download speed.

There are certain advantages to this if your connection speed is good. The first is being able to play a second game (even another disc game) while downloading and second, being able to download the rest of your game with the console in 'Instant on' power mode.

see my fix in here. Before installing game, turn internet off, install game from disc, THEN turn internet on to download patch etc. It wants to download game from internet instead of game disc.
