    Games Crashing with amdxc64.dll

    Hello,

My PC starting crashing two days ago. I've had it for three years and every single time this happens, it's because I am out of date with AMD Adrenaline's latest update. I update my driver, reset my pc, no problems until it happens again with the next update. This issue started happening two days ago, and sure enough I missed out on the Mid May 2024 AMD driver update. Thought it would be the fix but not only did the game stop loading but my pc started randomly dying with K exception not handled.

I then "reset my pc" and wiped it, downloaded Windows from the cloud. Loaded AMD, installed games and gave Ghosts of Tsushima the two minute try. It passed and I thought things were over, so I played Hell Divers 2 for a little bit and that was fine. I shut my computer off last night thinking everything was fixed.

Booted up Ghost of Tsushima today and it lasted maybe five minutes before failing. At this point I have to assume something in the GPU is going, but it's only three years old at most.

TL;DR amdxc64.dll is crashing constantly despite a 'reset my pc'. sfc /scannow says nothing wrong. will reply to post with memtest86 results.

    Forza 7 crashing to desktop

Agreed, it's a generic error but always related to amdxc64.dll which seems to be the AMD direct x 12 driver.

I've tried a clean install, re-installing WHQL drivers, installing the latest non-WHQL drivers from AMD, reset the GPU.

However this keeps returning, and only for Forza 7.

I tried the scan and no corrupt files were found.
Yeah, after I posted, I'd missed a couple of posts while writing, including reinstalling Windows so wasn't expecting much success on that.

So, i have found something which may or may not be useful..it is from a post for Forza 6 Apex but others using MS 7 have found it to work:

    https://forums.forzamotorsport.net/...x-crashes-with-amdxc64-dll-error--Solved.aspx

Obviously, the Driver number is different but the principle would be the same I imagine.

I am curious: What GPU do you have? If I had to guess I'd say either the 5700, which has had driver issues since even before it got released or one of the newer ones

    Forza Horizon 5 won't launch

Exactly my friend, it's very weird.

But to be honest, Forza Horizon is just buggy. The developers now that but they're not doing anything to fix it.

Several players says that they can play the game normally for weeks, then all of sudden it starts to crash and never (or almost never) return to normal.

In my humble opinion as a system development student, it's probably something with the game database on the computer (or on registry) that can get corrupted and normal uninstalling methods do not remove it.

Or maybe a library file (.dll file) on the Windows/System32 folder that is corrupted by the game. Some .dll files can get corrupted when used by some games and installing the original again can solve the problem. But to find out which .dll file got corrupted without the game generating an error log is like looking for a needle in a haystack.

Fallout 4 and New vegas won't work on PC gamepass

    Hi-

I am also having trouble running Fallout New Vegas and Fallout 4 on PC.

I get two error messages, saying the files MSVCP140.dll and VCRUNTIME140_1.dll cannot be found, and then another error message from Xbox PC saying the game has crashed. This happens with both games.

I updated my computer and the graphics card driver and I reset the store cache. The games won't run in administrator mode.

Any other suggestions? Windows 11, and Xbox store says the games "should play great on this PC".

Won't let me play Java minecraft with the new launcher

The DLL file you downloaded and pasted on the JRE folder was the opengl32.dll?
