Games crashing on startup or shortly after.

Hi all,

For the last week my Xbox One either crashes to Dashboard shortly after the splash screen or gets to loading in game and then crashes. I've done a hard reset (unplugged and back on), I have it on Energy Saving Mode. I am also in the Preview program so not
sure it could be to do with the OS? Anyway below will post games I tried and what happened:

The Division: Crashes during loading after character select.

Rainbow 6 Siege: Crashed while customising operator.

Doom: Crashed the moment the splash screen disappeared.

Only game I tested so far that hasn't crashed is Diablo 3. Would be grateful if anyone had any ideas what is going on.

Game crashing on startup

I have a similar problem, when I start Xbox games under win 8.1 on my PC it just crashes to normal window. I downloaded shuffle party and it played fine. The only way I have found to resolve this is to keep rebooting my PC until it works. Clean build
of Win 8.1, AMD CPU @ 4.0GHz, 16GB 1600 RAM, 1GB DDR5 R5 270 graphics card, Gigabyte GA-78LMT-USB3 motherboard Rev 5, all 4 HDD SataIII AHCI. Can you please help resolve this

Game crashing on startup

This has been happening the last few days. I am running Windows 8.1 on a i5 Surface 3.

As I open the app, I see the screens showing the company logos. The next screen, if it shows at all, is the main screen with the rotating dots and says connecting. After a second or three, the app crashes to the desktop like it has minimized. I tap on the
button to maximize the app and it goes through the same process. On other occasions, it will just go to a blank screen before crashing to desktop.

I have uninstalled and reinstalled the app with the same findings. The app does run, but only on the eighth or ninth time trying to load. When it loads, it seems to run properly.

If reinstalling Windows didn't work then it's most likely a hardware issue. We can't effectively troubleshoot hardware issues on this forum so I'd advise taking it to a local computer store if possible.

Update:

shortly after posting here my games started loading... I redownloaded my profile; not sure if that actually fixed it but thing appear to be working now. Only issue is that all of my games are needing to sync data with the cloud at startup.

It's a complete system reinstall, it will erase all the contents of the internal storage.

If there is any corrupted file, it will be gone.

Hi,

Out of all the information provided, I would be focusing on this area. Error 0xc0000005 is an Access Violation error which is usually caused by your computer not being able to correctly process the files and settings required to run a particular program.

It can have many different causes, including faulty RAM problems, errors with the files of your PC and issues with the settings of your PC.

With the exception of a hardware fault, I would suggest for you to check for corrupted Windows system files. System File Checker (SFC) is a utility in Windows that scans for corrupted Windows system files. If it finds a problem, it will try to replace the problematic system files from a cached version that’s on your PC.

To run System File Checker (SFC), follow these steps:

In the Windows search box on the taskbar, type command prompt, press and hold (or right-click) Command Prompt, then select Run as administrator > Yes.
At the command prompt, type sfc /scannow (note the space between sfc and the /). Scanning will take a few minutes.
If SFC finds corrupted files and replaces them, restart your PC and check if the issue persists.
