Games are redownloading and i didnt start the download

Me and my brother have been having issues with both of our xbox's where sometimes games start to download without us starting it but the games have already been downloaded. we do have western digital external drives hooked up but we have never had this
problem before.

So i tried t connect to the internet but it didnt let me. I deleted my profile and when i tried to redownload it from x/live it said that profiles cannot be downloaded, at the bottom it said the code
800704cd. Please help!!

Mine downloads perfectly but won't play! I try to start it and sometimes the error will say" unable to play" other times it will say" game cannot be played. Try redownloading"

This may be related either to the console's settings or to the drives themselves. In order to exclude the drives as the potential troublemaker I would hood them up to a PC, download and run WD Data Lifeguard Diagnostic tool and see if both drives pass both
the quick and the extended tests. Have in mind that the extended test takes quite a while. Here's a link to the tool:
products.wdc.com/.../kb.ashx If the drives pass the tests they should be safe to use and the problem should be lying elsewhere.

I'd also check if there's an option to automatically download a game or an update to a game and thus having these downloads.

Contacting the manufacturer's support of the console might also be a good idea!
