    Games are receiving input that is not being given


    • What accessory are you having trouble with (controller and/or Stereo Headset Adapter)?
    Xbox Day One Controller

    • What exactly is happening?
    Today I noticed that when I am playing both Halo 5 & Assassin's Creed Syndicate that the characters would move forward or would cycle up through menus without me pushing forward on the left joystick.

    • What have you tried so far? Please be specific!
    I have updated the controller.

    I have tried making sure that the left joystick is not touched at all when I turn it and the console on.

    I have held in the button on top of the controller with what appears to be ))) beside it until my controller disconnects from the console and reconnect it. (tried twice)

    • Are you in the Update Preview Program?
    No.

    In Halo 5 it wasn't much of a problem. In Assassin's Creed Syndicate it is proving to be a real problem.

    Watching Sky TV via HDMI In

    Ok, it would seem it is NOT receiving the instruction via IR as the IR input light does not flash indicating it is receiving a signal.

    Has CEC been built into the HDMI input/output? Could there be a bug with this?!

    Gave up on the thing, trading it in for one that works.

    Cortanna, the controllers eventually wear out. The symptoms you describe are exactly the same ones I've had. They're poor quality, compared to the 360's. I'm on my 4th Xbone controller now, and I keep one new one on hand for when the "next time" happens.

    And RE the update that just came out today, you have to reboot the console after updating the console and the controller. I found this out when (without rebooting), the only thing that worked in BF4 was the right trigger. Keep that in mind if you update
    today, or tomorrow. Keep gamin'!

    Thanks for the information. It definitely sounds like a replacement for the controller is your best option. When did you purchase the controller? If it was recently I would recommend you reach out to the retailer for an exchange. If not and your controller
    is still under warranty you can set up repair on our
    Online Service Center    .
