Games are not downloading correctly to portable SSD

Ok so long story short the internet at my house is really bad and slow so I bought a portable 1TB SSD to bring with me to work to download Ark and then bring it home to install on my pc (I have done this successfully through steam but want to use it through Xbox instead). The issue I’m having is the Xbox pc app made me format my drive to a NTFS in order to be recognizable, and then after doing that and downloading Ark to the SSD I brought it home and tried to play the game on my home PC but the Xbox pc app is telling me I need to download the game and I don’t see the Ark files on my SSD I only see files for the maps. I don’t know what’s wrong because if I look under my settings>apps it shows Ark is there but it only shows it for a 154mb (which I know can’t be the actual game). I don’t know how to get this to work

    :)

Games are not downloading correctly to portable SSD

Hello, I'm Felipe and I'm an independent Community Advisor, and I'll do my best to help you.

It sounds like there may have been an issue with the download or transfer process. Here are some troubleshooting steps you can try:

Check to see if the Xbox app is installed on your home PC. If it is not, you will need to download and install it.

Make sure your portable SSD is connected to your home PC and recognized by the system.

Open the Xbox app on your home PC and go to Settings > System > Storage. Make sure that your portable SSD is selected as the default install location.

Try downloading Ark again from the Xbox app and see if it installs to the correct location on your portable SSD.

If the above steps do not work, try deleting the partial download of Ark from your home PC and then re-downloading it from the Xbox app on your work PC.

If none of these steps work, it may be worth contacting Xbox support for further assistance.

My Series X no longer recognises my Samsung T5 external SSD for media. Help!

Series X + Samsung Portable SSD T5 1Tb can't be used to record game clips anymore (error code 0x80bd003c)

Xbox series X not capturing clips

Yes, I'm using a Samsung Portable SSD T5 SCSI to store my captures.

    Xbox One external Hard Drives

External Hard drive tends to be larger, more noisy, less durable, less portable, than an external SSD. Yes I notice a bit of faster loading speed when I switch to a SSD. Games that has slower loading speed are now more tolerable to load than before. I really
appreciate using the SSD when playing Forza Horizon 2 cutting down the loading time switching places or almost instantly switching custom paints on cars. There also been times when the the game level start before the intended loading screen scenery finishes
like in Destiny the game start before the dialog ends.

Logical: Get a Seagate Portable External Hard Drive for $90. The 2TB should last you about 3 years. In the future when you need more space can get a SSD that by then should be the standard selling on a fair price.

If you don't want to worry about space again then get the Seagate Desktop External Hard Drive for $150. The 5TB should last you forever . For only $60 more you get 4 more TB than the portable one. The drawback is that it comes with an extra cable to power
    it.

The Spoil Option: Transcend 1TB SSD for the best portable option with no noise, moving parts, durability, and getting the most speed out of USB 3.0. Their prices are going down over time though.

Hello, my question is what's all the ssd expansion card I can use for xbox series x. Thanks

Hello Donte C, my name is Oskayra, and I will be happy to help you.

Beforehand, it is important that you keep in mind that this is a public community forum, so we are players like you, we are not employees of Microsoft or Xbox. All users help each other with common problems.

With the intention of being able to help you, I did a search on the internet and these are excellent options on the market and it seemed like good information, which you should take into account:

    1. Best Xbox Series X SSD overall

    Excellent performance

The best and only direct expansion unit officially available, this is a great little bit of kit.

    4. Best alternative SSD card for Xbox Series

    Excellent option

The WD_Black expansion card is just as good as the Seagate one, making them the two best options.

    Samsung T7 Portable SSD

    2. Best Xbox Series X External SSD

    Great alternative

    SanDisk Extreme Portable SSD

    4. Best rugged SSD for Xbox Series

    Rugged storage

A great unit that is safe even in difficult situations.

    WD_Black P50 Game Drive SSD

    5. Best SSD for Xbox Series X gaming

    High speed

An excellent SSD that should unfortunately be a little cheaper, but is nonetheless an external storage superstar.
