    Hello folks,

    For the last several days, my XBox One has been giving me this message with any game or App I want to use: "for some reason, (insert game or app here) took too long to start. (0x8027025a)"

    I have no idea what to do about this.

    On top of that, despite getting the A-OK that I'm connected to the internet (through a WiFi extender, which worked fine before, and is working just fine on my phone and tablet as I write this) when I run a system check, if an app does manage to start, it
    tells me that I'm not connected to the internet.

    I feel like these two things are probably connected, as they both began occuring at the same time.

    NBA 2k14 Issues: "This game took too long to start"

    I was recently playing NBA 2k14 on myCareer when I encountered a problem. I purchased player upgrades with my VC that I earned and the screen got froze where it said "Please wait, connecting to the 2k sports server". I've seen problems like this before and
    so I uninstalled the game and then re-installed it, knowing that my save data is not deleted. But when I re-installed it and tried to play it, it says the game "took too long to start". Anyone else encounter something like this? and if so, what solution options
    do I have other than deleting my save data?

    Try doing a hard reset of your console by holding the power button on the front of the console until it turns off then unplug it from the outlet for 30 sec then plug it back in and power back on and try the game again.

    I have the same issue, It has been happening since before Thanksgiving 2015 for me. I called MS XBOX support, They sent me a new console, and it is stil happening. I have to call them back to let them know I am having same issue. It woulod happen to the
    OneGuide, Help, Settings and now more recently it does it with games. What is the point of Instant on to resume my game if i have to shut the console down to get it to open correctly.

    The issue has been making me angry when all i want to do is play, and now have to wait 5 minutes for a power down reboot.

  7. Solution 1: Hard reset. Hold power button on the front of the console until it turns off and unplug from outlet for 1 minute then plug back in and try again. If that doesn't work try solution 2

    Solution 2: Go to settings, console and updates and choose factory reset. Be sure to choose keep everything and your console will restart and hopefully resolve the issue.

    I reset my console back to factory settings and I'm still getting the same message that games or apps take too long to start

    App/Game took too long to start

    The only thing that I can suggest is a hard reset performed EXACTLY like this.

    Hold the power button on the console for 8 seconds or until the power shuts down completely. Unplug the power cord from the back of the console for 5 minutes. Plug the power cord back in and restart the console.

    If that doesn't work then try another factory reset and if that doesn't work contact support for a repair. https://support.xbox.com/en-US/contact-us

    Already did it a few times, sometimes the games works but only for a few days, then I start getting the same error again.

    I'm from Brazil, will check if this service is available here, will try to test with a external drive first.
