games and apps not working

As a Community Member, I know how frustrating this can be for you. All I can say in this moment and time, is to hang in there. Microsoft and Xbox Live are more then likely looking into this issue. Please keep a eye on the

Games work if u disconnect from the internet. Soo no multiplayer or apps but installed and disc games work.

 

So with things not working while online makes me wonder if the reason is because the Xbox is not sending information but receiving it because it does load ads n whatnot... Idk just a thought. cant fix anything if you dont know the cause of the problem

 

yeah just throwing this in there.. although it seems to be covered how angry some of us are.. but this is my sole form of entertainment.. gaming.. television, other things. i would really.. really fricken like for this to be fixed asap as i have spent alot
of time and considerable money on this console and if it doesn't get fixed soon im either gonna jump ship to sony or give up on gaming entirely. wont be any fun to go to work knowing that i have nothing to do when i get home because the one thing i have spent
my hard earned cash, and loyalty, on just up and stopped working. maybe im jumping the gun on how angry i am but i feel like im gonna get left out.. a "well we got most of em working" sort of thing. guess if it doesnt start working again im just out huh.

 

Love how the adds work just fine but nothin else does

 

I have the same problems, it's really strange... Yesterday I have been the same and after turning on and off a lot of time, xbox 360 going right... Just for a moment...

Just an update. Not sure why this is but I'll let everyone know anyway in case it may help others or the xbox team. My console has always been a wired connection directly to my router which is the best connection possible but just for fun I hooked up my
console wirelessly to my old router and everything works fine now as long as I'm wireless. I'm really curious why this would matter at all. I would think a wired connection would be the most reliable one. Why would xbox live care what the connection method
is to allow apps and profile related info to work?

 

Another bit of info. Games wil start if you make sure you're disconnected completly from the internet. No apps or online functions but at least you can play your games. Hope this helps some people. I know this is frustrating but this isn't as bad as the
time Sony's network was down for 3 months. lol

It's ridiculous that this problem enters its third day with no deign of a fix in sight. It makes me think that Microsoft's people don't know what the problem is. Maybe this info will help you track down the problem: I've noticed that when turning on my
Xbox 360, if the two upper squares in the far right column of the "games" and/or "tv & movies" sections do not successfully load anything, such that they just show spinning circles, then that means that if I launch a game or app, the console will get stuck
showing a black screen. (And it seems that in the past three days, this has been the case at least 75% of the time that I turn on my console.) Maybe the connection between the failure of those squares to load and the black screen upon launching apps/games
will help you track down the problem.

 

Some more info, adding to my above comment:

As an experiment, I turned off "automatic sign-in", then turned my console off and back on. I exited the sign-in prompt without signing in, and found that all of the squares in the "games" and "TV & movies" sections loaded. I then went to the "my video
apps" section and launched the Amazon Instant Video app, which launched fine, but asked me to sign-in to Xbox Live, which I did, and the app proceeded to work as normal. I then exited Amazon Instant Video, which took me back to the "my video apps" section,
from which I launched Netflix, and it worked properly too.

But I then went back to the main dashboard and found that now that I had signed in, the upper two squares in the right columns of the "games" and "TV & movies" sections no longer loaded (just showed spinning circles, as described in my earlier comment above)
and then I could no longer load Amazon Instant Video (console gets stuck on a black screen).

I've tried this twice now and got the same results: it seems that as long as I don't go to the "games" or "TV & movies" sections while signed in, so that I avoid trying to load the problematic squares while I'm signed in, then I can launch the video apps
from the "my video apps" section (the first app I launch will ask me to sign in, but as long as I then stay within the "my video apps" section, I can launch any app in that section without encountering the black screen problem).

 

It appears that connecting with wireless through the router will work only one time for me now. In other words I can use one app once then when I exit that app I have to go to network settings sign out and retest the connection then sign back in again to
use an app or play one game. The process must then be repeated. Even then sometimes it won't work. Rebooting and logging in won't work. The connection test must be done. This just gets weirder.

 

blu: I noticed that too. The games and movies recomendation squares are the only ones that spin and never load when this problem is happening.

 

Great 2 1/2 days now just black screen for games and app.

This really sucks

Finally have the time off now this happens

Wondering how long this is going to take...............
