Gamertags that are sexually suggestive

I just finished listening to over an hour's worth of frustrating employees from Microsoft. My 9 yr. old son was allowed to change his gamertag to a sexually suggestive one. A rude untrained supervisor from customer support talked over me and failed to
know the rules on this issue. I never would have expected this from such a respected company. She hung up on me when I was asking for her name! I am emailing my online chat to my local SVU dept. in Philly. Parents beware. If someone wants to step up to

Actually I don't think you can get in trouble for that, it's not outright sexually suggestive so I think you'd be safe.

Interesting...

They're obviously only paying lip service to stupid parents. To those parents it's guns that are noticeable. If the marketplace had some kind of sexually suggestive products they'd be all over that too.

There are filters in place to prevent this. However when people create a tag with symbols - numbers and other letters twists the filters cannot pick up everything. Your son is nine years old. Why do you not have parental controls turned on? I am sorry -
but as I am also a parent, - you alone are responsible for what your child is doing at any given time no matter whether that be XBOX or Sony or playing outside with friends. In order for him to change his name he had to have control over the account which
he should not. If this was my son he would ne pulled off the console for a long time.

Sometimes you can bypass filters by using numbers or misspelling words, that is probably the reason it was accepted.

I cannot comment on the xbox employee who you spoke with and i myself am not employed by them.

Your son could perhaps benefit from more supervision? My son is 6 and has just been found out for searching naked women on youtube.

It is frustrating when you try to give them the freedom they crave whilst trying to make sure they are safe in a primarily teenage/adult online world.

On the issue in hand, again, i cannot comment on behalf of xbox.

I hope you can find some resolve

It appears that your Gamertag would be in violation of the Code of Conduct. Specifically:

Don't create a gamertag, profile content, Avatar action, Avatar content, or in-game content that other users may be offended by. This includes, without limitation, anything related to or suggestive of: profane words/phrases, topics or content of a sexual
nature, hate speech (including but not limited to racial, ethnic, or religious slurs), illegal drugs/controlled substances, or illegal activities.

Your gamertag is suggestive of "topics or content of a sexual nature". I'd suggest reviewing the
Code of Conduct before selecting your new gamertag.

The OP's gamertag does not offend me enough to report it, but the Code of Conduct says not to create a gamertag related to or suggestive of:

Topics or content of a sexual nature

So somebody might report it for violating that, and it couldn't really be argued.

I suggest you look in the urban dictionary where you'll find the word is sexually explicit.

The word has been around for many many years.

You will not get the gamertag back,the only way to change your tag is to pay for it.
