    Hopefully this is the right area to post this, apologies if it isn't.

    Okay, so where do I begin? Alright, When I first got an Xbox 360 account many years ago as a young excited kid, I messed up on the 'enter hotmail email' screen signing in to Xbox Live and instead of putting (.com) at the end of my email.
    I accidentally typed (.con) and it somehow created a new hotmail account with that address, when my 360Red Ringed. I got another one a while later and thinking I can recover my beloved account, I inadvertently created
    this account thinking it somehow deleted my long used gamertag. So now I have two different Gamertags from two different accounts and the one with the wrong email address is the one I want to go to my right email. I just got an Xbox one and want
    to be able to receive notifications for the account, I have called tech support numerous times (each call taking 4 hours each time and each technician basically telling me to try calling them again later) and am almost able to change it, but for some reason
    it doesn't let me because this account pops up with an error message that I 'need a parent or guardian to enter their password in order to proceed'. Thing is, I'm 23 and have this set up as an adult account.

    This is very frustrating, All I want to do is switch my two accounts and nothing I've done has helped me, not even IT.

    TL;DR: I'm trying to switch this Gamertag with another gamertag that technically isn't supposed to exist due to an invalid .com address and the account I'm using to type up this email won't let me switch with any gamertag at all because
    it still thins I'm a kid and wants a password from a parent or guardian.

    Hey mate, you won't get a support member playing with your account through here. The only way to have someone look at your account is calling phone support.

    -

    Though what I would suggest is sign onto the Xbox with whatever gamertag it is you wish to use and change the email through the xbox to a temporary one which will free up the email you want to use. Then switch the gamertag back to the email you want to use after
    the waiting period is over and hopefully the gamertag will be associated with one email.

    Ok, to summarize.

    The X360 worked fined (if not often) on my previous TV. I switched TV at Christmas, and I realized last week that the new TV apparently refuse to work with X-360 games. The suggestion of tech support is to switch consoles. It's enrage me, as I have probably
    less than 100 hours of gameplay on this console.

    Hey, sorry I'm a little confused. So you do have access to your old gamertag now and you want to change the email address or you still want to try and find out the email to an old gamertag?

    To change the email you will need to recover the gamertag onto your console and change it through there:

    support.xbox.com/.../switch-gamertag-to-different-microsoft-account

    If you still need to find the email associated with the gamertag the best thing to do is call Xbox phone support and see if they can help you. You will still need to prove you own the account through other details then the email address such as your other
    billing information. Hope this helps.

    whats weird is my gamertag was not changed until I called tech support about my account not getting online an that same error message.

    There are several reasons as to why an email cannot be changed but purchasing an Xbox One console is not among that list.

    Here is a link on reasons why you may not be able to change your email.

    If you don't fall into any of those categories and you still cannot change the email associated with your tag then give phone support a call to see if they can assist you. If you live in North America then dial 1-800-469-9269
