Gamertag - years of waiting

Hi Xbox support, I’ve always appreciated the work you put into helping others with there issues throughout the years. It’s not very often you find someone who hasn’t had there issue fixed by the support team.

However, I’ve had this issue over the last 12 (more or less) I’d hugely appreciate some kind of fix for my problem..

At first, I was forced to take a Gamertag which I didn’t like due to the name I wanted was taken. I understand there’s are millions of others users and i accepted and moved on.

During May 2016, I was unbelievably excited to hear that Xbox was doing a gamertag resrt and I’d finally be able to grab my dream name only to find out it hadn’t been reset, I have spoke to staff about why it wasn’t (possibility of it still being used on
other media I.e Hula etc)

I know you cannot make priority of other members as it’s not fair, however it would be absolutely incredible if this could be fixed.

P.S (My actual account wouldn’t let me post, so I made a new one today)

Gamertag system is a failure.

I've been waiting for a gamertag that is a V1 (original xbox gamertag) it is over 7 years inactive

When will Original (Dead) Gamertags be reset?

I have been waiting ages to get my old gamertag back that has not been online in 4 years. The gamertag is "Dodgers."

Could you guys help me out?

There is no way to request a gamertag to be freed up. As you were previously told, the tag may be in use on another Microsoft service. All you can do is wait for either the owner to change the tag to something else or if they don't sign into the account
for 5 years, it will be freed up.

I haven’t requested it to be freed, I’m asking for a reason as to what is going on with the account & a little gratitude would’ve been nice.

Unfortunately there is no way to know why a certain tag hasn't been freed up. If the system says it's in use, then it is in use somewhere on Microsoft's services. There's no way to know anything else beyond that.

Well since it the account doesnt bwlong to you they wont tell you that due to privacy laws.
