    Gamertag word banned but other people have it?


    So recently ive been contemplating on changing my gamertag and i decided i wanted the word “waifu” in it. after finally choosing a tag im happy with, i go to enter the gt i want and it says the gamertag isnt allowed in red text below where i typed it in.
    i was confused so i tried a different word with the word waifu and still no luck. im thinking maybe its a bug or its a banned word but ive ran into so many other people in games to still actively have the word waifu in their tags. has anyone else had this
    problem or have a solution? thanks!

    it might be that the gamertag has been recently added to the list of gt that xbox won't allow anymore but not 100% sure

    i was assuming so, just curious because ive also found that if you search or retry another gamertag so many times, it becomes completely unavailable.

    hoping its just a new addition and not a bug!

    It may be a temporary issue that's going on. Currently Gamerpics are disabled for change. The same could be with the gamertag change as well. Either that or it's a recent bug, and you'll need to wait for a fix.

    One thing you could try is changing your gamertag with different methods.

    As far as i know you can change it via:

    1. Xbox 360

    2. Xbox One

    3. Xbox App

    4. https://social.xbox.com/changegamertag

    Cannot change GamerTag.

    Maybe it is a word they have banned? No idea, try think of other Gamertags.
