Gamertag won't change

So I made my xbox account sometime ago and I got an autogenerated name and I was like well I don't like this name so I changed it to something else and it said it successfully changed and come a few months late after not playing on my xbox for a while it still has not changed it shows it has changed when I go to the change gamer tag but it does not display my new name on my profile any ideas why that is?

Your current name isn't a autogenerated one it's a custom.one

You would have an emotion plus an fluffy animal and a combination of numbers to be generated

Yes I have when I try to change it again it gives me the prompt to pay for the new gamertag

I believe I changed my gamertag for free since it never brought up having to be charged for it and I don't know how to check if I have to pay for it still, even though I don't think it would work like that.

Hi, some games (Particularly older/360 games) lack the capability to tell when a gamertag has changed and will continue displaying the gamertag you first started playing the game with.

This is also more likely if you have adopted a new gamertag with the new #1234 number ending system.

Otherwise hopefully it will resolve in time.
