Gamertag wasnt violating terms and conditions so it got changed

Hey, I was on 360 yesterday but after 20 mins after I went off I got a message from Microsoft stating my gamertag violated their terms and conditions but it wasn't and I can't change it now

You would need to file a complaint on them via the console in order for the enforcement team to investigate.

was violating the terms because there was "sexual content words" in the game tag and his gamertag falls under drug/alcohol category.

looks like that is the type of tag they give when you DO violate the TOC/COC and create a tag that was against the rules. and yes you can change it you just have to pay 10 bucks, but note you will NOT be able to change it to what it was and if you create
another bad tag they will change it again and TOO many forced changes results in perm ban from live.

How did you lose your xbox live account ? Not heard anyone not able to change their gamertag unless the tag they want violates the terms and conditions.

As a paying customer I disagree Daft Badger. I have Terms and Conditions too. By me signing up to microsoft's so called 'service', they are now bound by my own terms and conditions and they have in fact violated MY terms and conditions. It's like me buying
a product and then 3 years down the track the person from whom I bought it from takes my product and exchanges it with something else. This is not what I agreed to nor is it acceptable. When I purchased my gamertag these new 'terms and conditions' were not
in effect. Had I known the terms and conditions would be changed in such a way I would not have PAID MONEY to have my gamertag changed in the first place

This being the case, I would like the option to change my gamertag to something of my liking as per the original terms and conditions to which I complied with when I bought my gamertag. The fact of the matter is, if my gamertag was offensive it should have
been deemed so upon purchasing it. The fact that this was overlooked is a flaw in Microsoft and is their fault, not my own. In my mind, at the time of creating my gamertag, I WAS obeying the terms and conditions. I would like either a refund of which I am
happy for it to be Microsfot credit or the option to change my GT to something that I would like.
