Gamertag was changed and this is weird?

My gamer tag was camp1ngj3w4u...

I signed into my xbox live today and I got this,

""Sorry this profile can't connect to xbox live on this console. To fix it,d download it again"

Then it singed me into some FluffyCub weird gamer tag.. anytime I try to go play a game via Xbox live now it signs me out of xbox live and makes me redownload the FluffyCub profile.. I didn't get any notification or email saying that a mod has changed
my gamer tag and i've been talking to xbox 360 support for over an hour and they have no idea what has happened... They said that my acct wasn't hacked and there is no trace of my camp1ngj3w4u profile which i've had for over a year with gold membership...
please help. I don't want to be stuck with this FluffyCub profile.. and it's telling me I have to pay $10 to change my gamer tag..

well from the sounds of it in the email "your gamertag or profile was found in violation of the terms of use and was issued a forced gamertag change?"

if you got such a message then yes the xbl pet team changed your name due to a violation of the terms of use

and you cannot be serious if you don't see the issue with that name

as punishment you were given a system issued name instead

that being said feel lucky you gotten a 2nd chance

you will have to pay for the right to use a personalized name again

you should it is sent to the email associated with your game tag but the above poster is correct your tag if against rules gets the forced name change, and a generic tag is assigned to you that you have to pay to change to something else. in the past if
your tag was against the rules you were prompted with a message saying you could not sign into live until you changed the tag, too many people abused that loophole by creating tags just as bad so now they do it this way there is no way around it if you want
a new name you have to pay for it and keep it clean this time thanks.

Yes, there is a possibility that your gamertag may have violated some terms of use.

However, it is also possible that a different email may be attached to your gamertag (could be hacked or you may have forgotten the exact email).

To know the exact email address of your gamertag, you need to contact chat or phone support. They will pull out your account using the original gamertag. If it pulls up the gamertag on the system, this means that all your information (payment options, download
purchases, etc.) is still on that gamertag.

For them to provide you the right Microsoft email attached to your gamertag, they will require you to verify the account first using other email addresses or phone number that may be registered under the original gamertag, that is by sending a system generated
code. Provide the code to the agent. If it is successfully verified, they will provide you the necessary details to your account. Then you will be able to determine if indeed there was a change from Microsoft's end, if it was hacked or due to a lot of emails
we use it may be mixed up and you will remember.

I have checked e-mails and the junk folders to which I have not received an email from Microsoft at all about my gamer tag being changed, and like I said, when I go to play a game on live, it disconnects me and tells me I have to re-download my profile.

FYI you are not allowed to have religious names or etc I lnyour gamer tag even misspelled you can ask the xbl pet team to see if a forced gamer tag changewas issued

My guess it is a yes due to the name.

 

you either had a forced gt change or you're not using the right email address.
