    Gamertag was automatically changed after a user report, I did not get the option to choose it


    Basically my Gamertag has been reported, it might have been innapropriate for some user. However, I did not get the option to choose my Gamertag and it got automatically changed by the system.

    I already used my free Gamertag change so now I must pay to change my Gamertag after another user reported it? This seems unacceptable. If I would have been told that my Gamertag was offensive and that I must change it, I would've done it without contest
    if the change was offered for free.

    I don't want to be stuck with this default Gamertag and I feel like it would be fair if I was not charged to change it again, as it was changed without my consent.

    The free name change was only available for those who were given an auto-generated tag. It doesn't look like your tag fits as one of those automatically generated gamertags.

    The option was only there because those user did not get a chance to choose their own gamertag right at the beginning.

    Gamertag change

    When you first setup your profile way back in the day the system automatically generated a gamertag for you. If you did not choose that option and put your own gamertag in then that counts as your free gamertag change

    Unfortunately when your GT gets reset by enforcement you receive a auto generated GT. If you want to change it you will need to pay the fee to change it.

    You can view your GT change enforcement action at enforcement.xbox.com and file a case review from there if eligible.

    Yes you can change your gamertag.

    If you were given a gamertag automatically from the system and did not get to choose your own gamer tag then you get the first change for free.

    If you got to choose your gamertag or the enforcement team did a forced change due to your gamertag violating the code of conduct then there would be a charge of around 9.99 USD

    This is straight from the COC:" If you create a Gamertag that has been determined to violate the Terms of Use or Code of Conduct, the system will automatically choose a new Gamertag for you". I believe the rules on getting a free name change after violating
    the COC have changed.
