Gamertag that does not exist is unavailable

I want to change my gamertag to "FRF Yank". But when I check the availability, it appears as existing. But when I search "FRF Yank" no results are displayed. That is, there is no one with this gamertag in live, but it appears as it already exists when I'm
going to try to change. Somebody can help me?

It says "Gamertag is unavailable" but I tried adding the chosen Gamertag and the account did not exist :/

gamertags are unique across several services, one is the xbox live service, but there is aslo the Zune service.

So your gamertag may be in use on one of those other services, that's why it mentiones that it is already in use and why it is saying that the gamertag isn't existing on xbox live.

I don't think there is anything you can do to get it back.

Just because you can't find that exact variation doesn't mean it doesn't exist

It could be GamerTag or Gamer tag which won't show up on search but will show up as existing

When searching you have to.spell it out exactly

But when creating a gamertag it has to be unique

 

The said tag that you wanted to use could have been used before by a gamer and has been replaced by something different. Please note that Xbox does not recycle used tags. Only the Xbox Engineers can release used tags. In fact, it has happened before. Almost
a million used tags have been released in 2016, if I can remember it precisely. Moving back, I recommend that you either take the same tag but in different format like for example "F R F Y a n k" or "xXxFRF YanKXxX" just so you could get it. You can also post
